Last Chapter. Any Requests?

Hallie and Sam had been back together for five months. They were on cloud nine. Each of the kids had celebrated their birthdays. It was Christmas Eve. Sam came through the front door.

"It's me." He said.

Max Jr. came up to him. "Hey."

"Hey." They hugged. "I smell cookies."

"We're in the kitchen baking."

"Does your mom still bake them from scratch?"

"Yeah." They went into the kitchen.

"Hi Sam." Melissa said. "Merry Christmas."

"Hi, Merry Christmas." Sam said.

"Sugar cookies are almost ready."  Ashley said.

"Are there any chocolate chip cookies?"

"We're mixing the ingredients now." Hallie said. "Hi." She said going over to him.

"Hi." They kissed.

"I help daddy." Penelope said.

"I see that."

After baking cookies they watched some Christmas movies. After the kids went to bed, Hallie and Sam stayed up wrapping presents.

About an hour later they went to bed themselves. She snuggled up to him.

"Is Max coming tomorrow?" Sam asked.

"He had them for the last two days."  "They already celebrated."

The next morning everyone opened their presents.

"There's one more." Sam said. He got down on one knee in front of Hallie, taking a tiny red box out of his pocket. "I know we've tried this once already... He opened the box. "I know it will work this time." "Will you marry me again Hallie?"

She smiled. "Of course I will." He put the ring on her finger. They kissed. The kids hugged them both.
