That Sunday Hallie had an autograph signing in Long Island,  New York. After the signing she drove a half hour to Max's house in Plainview. It was her first time being there. She knocked on the door. He answered smiling.

"Hi." He said.

"Hi." She went inside. They kissed.

"Did you have any trouble finding it?"

"Not at all."

After a tour of the house Hallie and Max were sitting on the couch.

"Have the finalization papers came through yet?"

"Not yet." He sighed frustrated. "Trust me, I want them to come just as much as you."

"I'm just tired of having to sneak around."

"I know." "It'll take some getting used to having my signature be Hallie Dylan again." Hallie didn't know it but Max hoped someday her last name would be Friedman.

It was the next morning.

"Hallie, babe, wake up, breakfast." She opened her eyes and sat up.

"You made me breakfast in bed?" She asked.

"Yeah." "Scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, two creams."

"That's so sweet honey." "Thank you." She kissed him.

Later that night Hallie was back home in Atlanta. She'd just gotten out of the shower. She got into her pajamas for the night. At around that same time Sam was coming home from skating. He could hear the hair dryer going. He went in the kitchen to get something to eat. Hallie's phone was on the counter. As Sam was walking passed it he saw the text she had just received. It read.

I can't wait for you to come over again. I love you. - Max

Sam felt like he'd been hit by a ton of bricks. He heard the hair dryer stop.

"Hallie?" Sam called coming up the stairs.

"I'm in here." She called from the bedroom. He came into the room. She saw he looked sad, angry and hurt.

"Who's Max, Hallie?"

"What?"

"You left your phone on the counter in the kitchen." "I just happened to glance at it walking by." "I saw a text from him that said." "He can't wait for you to come over again and he loves you."

"I didn't want you to find out like this." "Max is my boyfriend."

"Do you love him?"

"Sam." She said not wanting to hurt him.

"Do you?"

"Yes." He got tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry."

"More then you loved me?"

"Don't."

"Who is it?"

"It's not important."

"Tell me Hallie."

"Max Friedman"

"What, Hal, come on." "He's a complete douchebag."

"No he's not."

"What did he do to coax you into bed?"

"It wasn't like that." "I can talk to him."

"About what?"

"Anything, the baby, if I want to." "He never yelled at me and told me to shut my fucking mouth, when I tried to talk to him about it." She said with tears in her eyes.

"I did that?"

She nodded her head yes. "It was worse when I tried to talk to you about it, and you wouldn't say anything." "Max loves me."

"I love you." He said coming up to her.

"No you don't."

"Oh, I don't?" He took out his phone and went to the locked folder. "Why did I keep these then, huh?" He showed her the pictures then put his phone away.

"I don't know." She said with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I love you, and I think you still love me."

"But you don't love me Sam."

"Yes I do."

"I know you think that, but you don't." "You act like the Sam I loved, my sweetheart." She sniffed and wiped her eyes. "But it's not real, you're not." "You're a cold, unfeeling, bastard now." "I can't watch you turn back into him again." "It killed me to watch you turn into him the first time."

"Even if I get my memory back, I'll never go back to being like that." "I promise." He put both hands on her stomach. "We can try again." "I know I hurt you. I'm sorry baby, I'm so sorry." He kissed her. She kissed him back. His hands went under her pajama top. He knelt down, lifted it just above her bellybutton and kissed her abs. She shut her eyes. "Sam, we can't." She said but did nothing to stop him. "We can't, this isn't you."' "Doesn't it feel like me?" He licked her abs. "Sam." She moaned. He stood up taking her top off in the process. She took off his shirt, kissed his chest then took off his jeans and boxers. He took off her bottoms and panties and got on the bed pulling her with him. He sat against the headboard and got a condom from the nightstand drawer. She straddled him and they kissed. "What was it you said to me the first night we were together?" He asked. "Make love to me Sam." She said. He slid her into him, she moved slowly. "God baby, I missed you so much." Sam said. "Oh Sam." She moaned. Over the course of the next hour they gradually went faster. "Oh Sam, don't stop, yes, yes." She moaned giving in. "God, Hal." He groaned giving in.

They were catching their breath.

"I love you so much Hallie, I do, I swear to god, I do." Sam said.

"I refuse to love you again." She thought. "I can't, I won't."

Not wanting to ruin the moment, she kissed him.
