Chapter 37

Sammie pov...

It has been about a month since the whole debacle with Kim... A protective order had been issued and it was quiet on the Kim front... Mike and Chris had signed a contract, and he was now officially his new manager. Together they had put together a new team, with people Chris was comfortable with... We still had security... Everywhere we would go, these 2 huge guys would follow... They were nice and all, but it was getting on my nerve a bit... Sophie loved them when i would go out alone with Sophie to do groceries or something and Chris could not come along, she would want them to carry her... I think that was because of their height... They dont seem to mind carrying her around and Sophie seemed to have them wrapped around her little fingers...

After our meeting with Kim, we had a wonderful night together just caught up in each other... We made love, talked and just enjoyed our time together... To say we had reconnected over the last weeks was an understatement... I was feeling more at ease... Happy... I loved our little family life... I dont think i have ever been this happy... Sophie was absolutely thriving here... She loves to play in the yard. She loves her dad and him being a little kid himself drove me crazy at times... Crazy with a smile on my face though... Hearing her giggle with her dad made it hard to scold them for their mischief... She loves being with her family... She loves Carly, Shanna and Lisa... Carly's kids were so sweet to her and took her under their wings... The only one she was still not warming up to was Scott... He was sad about it and i reassured him that she would come around it would just take some time... To not push it as that would only work against him...

But her absolute favorite is Grandma Lisa... After her sleepover there they were thick as thieves. Even with another person there for security they had a great time bonding. They had played games and had dance parties... She could pick what she wanted to eat. In the morning, Sophie had helped her make breakfast for us... We had picked her up around 10, had breakfast together and after breakfast while Sophie played in the living room, we caught her up on everything... She was shocked but not surprised seeing as she had caught Kim on lies before... What she was shocked about was what was said in the recording... 

We even managed to have a nice picknick in the park with Sophie. It was a nice warm day and i smile thinking of walking to our spot hand in hand... Chris playing with Sophie on the swings and just running around, while i relaxed in the sun... It was nice to not have to do everything alone anymore... People seem to leave us alone and maybe that was because of the statement that was brought out the day after our meeting with Kim... I still remember how he read what Mike had written...

"I am normally not someone to comment on my private life but to be ahead of the press i want to share some pretty big news with you all. I recently found out that i have a 3-year-old daughter. Due to the deceit and meddling of a third party and my own stupidity her mom never got the chance to tell me she was pregnant and i missed out on the first 3 years of her life. I have been in her life for some time now and i couldn't be happier. My daughter is a smart, sweet and bubbly little girl who made me instantly fall in love with her and has me wrapped around her little fingers. I wanna make it clear to all the people who will have something to say about this, that i no way the mother is to blame for me missing out on the first 3 years of my daughter's life. I love her mother very much and i will not tolerate any abuse against her. I hope you all can be happy for me and give us the privacy we need right now to adjust to family life. I could not be happier and i love my girls so much... I have a lot to make up for, but i am fully committed and devoted to the both of them. To my family..." 

I was in tears as it was beautiful. Mike might have written it, but Chris had given him some pointer and things he wanted to be mentioned. I told him to take the whole, 'own stupidity' thing out but he would not hear of it. He said it was his form of taking responsibility... The statement had been published and it had been the talk of the town for over a week... At time i was thankful for the security as i could not go anywhere without being followed by paparazzi... But like with everything in Hollywood world, there soon was another hot story and things quieted down...
