Chapter 16

Sammie pov...

"So, he is not going anywhere huh?" Sara whispers as i am letting her out... I shake my head a little smile breaking through... "He says he is not... But we will see..." I whisper and Sara smiles... "That is a good thing, right?" She asks me and i shrug my shoulders letting out a sigh... "There is still a lot to discuss... Other than that, we haven't really talked about stuff... I broke down from exhaustion..." I mumble looking away and Sara squints at me... "And then what?" She asks with this lopsided grin on her face and i shake my head before looking at her again... "And then nothing... I took a nap..." I mumble a little blush appearing on my face and i avoid looking her in the eyes... I know it is not the whole truth but for now i leave the cuddling out... She is already having too much fun with this. 

"OMG... You fucked him...!" She whispers yells at me with a smirk on her face and i look at her with wide eyes... "Sssssht... What!? NO!" I hiss back at her, and she smirks... "No?" She asks again raising her eyebrow as if she does not believe me and i shake my head... "He just carried me to the couch to let me sleep..." I hiss and Sara holds up her hands... "Okay, okay... Fine... No fucking..." She says and i sigh pinching the bridge of my nose... 

"I will leave you to it... Call me when you need me... Maybe for a night of babysitting... I can take Sophie for a night...?" Sara says and i chuckle and shake my head... "He is here to get to know Sophie..." I say and Sara chuckles... "Newsflash sweetheart... That man is not only here to get to know his kid... He gets this twinkle in his eyes when he looks at you... That man does not only want to be in Sophie's life... He wants to be in your life to... preferably your pants... " She whispers and i sigh... "Sara please... I am confused enough at it is... Let's not over complicate things..." I say and she sighs... 

"I get it... But i dont get it... If i had a gorgeous man like that was in my house. A man who looked at me like i was his favorite snack... Let's just say i would climb him like a tree and ride him like the mechanical bull at the cowboy bar down the street..." Sara says licking her lips and i laugh... "Oooookay time for you to go now..." I say and start pushing her towards the elevator smirking as she is giggling... "Question... Is his friend Sebastian single..." She giggles and i chuckle... "No clue..." i say as i press the elevator button... "Next time you see him give him my number, will yah..." She says and the elevator doors open. "Bye Sara... Thank you for picking up Sophie... Talk to you later..." I say and she giggles... "Byeeeee...! Just think about it... Like a tree!!!" She yells as the doors of the elevator close....

"I love her... She is my best friend... I love her... She is my best friend... I love her... She is my best friend..." I sigh over and over again as i walk back into my apartment. I smile as i hear Ariel's voice fill the apartment... I think in the time Chris has been here he already watched the little mermaid a dozen times... He must be going crazy by now. I lean against the wall and watch them... I have to admit it is a beautiful sight. Sophie is sitting in his lap cuddled into him... The hyper is gone and she totally relaxed... 

All of a sudden Chris looks over his shoulder... "She wanted to watch..." He says smiling and i smile back... "Want to join?" He asks and i shake my head... "No... I am good here..." I whisper as i am quite enjoying the view. Chris whispers something to Sophie who looks up at me... "Come watch with us mommy..." She squeals and i roll my eyes but can't help but smirk. This is going to be a problem. Chris has found my Achillies heel... My weak spot... I push myself off the wall and walk over to them. I kiss Sophie on top of her head... I walk to the other side of the couch and sit down... Sophie looks at me and tilts her little head... "Not so far... Mommy..." Sophie says and Chris smirks... I sigh and scoot closer but making sure there is enough room between the both of us... 

We watch the movie and when it ends Sophie is asleep in Chris his lap... "Right now, she looks just like you..." Chris whispers a big grin on his face and i roll my eyes... "Why...? Because she is asleep and drooling in your lap?" I ask and he snickers... "Yup..." He says proudly and i shake my head smirking... "You should take her to bed..." I say and he nods standing up in one smooth motion. I watch him walk off and i take a deep breath... 

I am not tired... The nap had been too long and now i am paying the price again... Sara's words still ring in my ears... I sigh and shake my head... Nope is not going to happen. It would only complicate things... Our cuddle session was already confusing enough. Suppressing the urge to let my hands glide under his shirt and rake my nails over his back had been difficult... But i managed to resist, knowing once i started i would not be able to stop. I just let myself indulge by laying in his arms... I can't remember the last time i felt so comfortable and safe... I had told a white lie telling him i was cold just so he would hold me tighter... Maybe i could have dragged myself off the couch to pick up Sophie myself but i just wanted to enjoy it a little longer. In that moment it looked like a good idea... Now i was not so sure anymore.

I sigh and let out a little groan... I am not making it easier for myself... I am crossing boundaries... Boundaries i had set for myself before he set his first steps in my apartment... There was a reason i had declined Sara's offer to have Sophie over for a sleepover... I dont think it would be smart... The idea of her not being here... The barrier gone that was not a good idea... 

I just have to pull myself together... Just take a few deep breaths and this little tickle in the pit of my stomach will go away... I am in control of my body... Of my heart... I am the one who needs to protect it... I can't have him break me all over again...
