Chapter 46

Chris pov...

3 days Sammie has been out now, 3 long days that might as well been months... The doctors are optimistic, but she has been out like a light. I was starting to get worried. I mean what if she would never wake up... Doctors said Sammie just needed time that it could be any moment now.

 I haven't left the hospital, even though they tried to get me to go home to get some sleep. I am not leaving and i told them to stop pushing or else they were not allowed to visit anymore... I want to be here when she wakes up.

Ma had visited with Sophie but seeing Sammie like this scared her so much that we decided that until Sammie was awake to keep her home. Robert, Scarlet, Seb and Mackie have been staying at my place. Sara and Liam joined them... They had gone home earlier as they both had to be back at work. I didn't have their numbers, so they only found out what happened after arriving at home and turning on the news. They had called Sammie's phone. They both would not listen when i told them there was nothing, they could do... They immediately came back to Boston calling the publishing house they all worked for explaining the situation and getting more time off, seeing as Sammie was one of their writers this was not a problem... Sara and Liam wanted to be close, and Sara was sure she could shame Sammie awake... 

She sat with me at Sammie's bedside often telling funny stories in the hope Sammie would wake up to tell her to shut up. It was a welcome distraction although sometimes annoying. After a while i had send everyone home... It was draining having them around... I had no clue what day it was or what was going on outside the hospital... Scarlet and Robert were handling everything pr related with Mike... I was in no state to do all that... All i want is to focus on Sammie... 

The cops have been by for an interview but i didn't know what to tell them... I had not seen where the shots were coming from. I had been so focused on getting Sophie to safety, and keeping Sammie alive that everything else was just a blur...  It did not matter though... Kim had been arrested at the scene with the gun still on her... From what i understood she was just screaming that the bitch and her evil spawn had to die, she even assaulted a police officer, so she was not getting out of this... The realization that she had also been aiming for Sophie was hard to swallow... Apparently the only reason she did not finish Sammie off, was because i was hovering over her and she could not shoot Sammie without shooting me to. 

I dont know what she was thinking... Did she really think with Sammie out of the way i would be hers... I force myself not to think too much about it as it is only making me angry... 

I sit there holding Sammie's hand, i am so tired that i was just taking a little rest my head laying on the bed... Just closing my eyes for a second when all of a sudden, i feel movement and i sit up immediately... She moves. I look up at her as she slowly opens her eyes. She opens her eyes and i can feel my heart start to pound in my chest. She looks around dazed squinting her eyes to get used to the light... She winces and lets out a soft groan... "Easy baby... You have to be careful... Try not to move to much..." I whisper and she looks over to me... I stand up and kiss her forehead before push the button for one of the nurses to come. "Welcome back, baby... It is good to see your beautiful eyes again..." I say smiling through my tears. She grabs my shirt and pulls me down making me kiss her. "Hi..." She whispers her voice sounding raspy... "Hi..." I whisper back softly smiling. 

The nurse walks in and smiles at Sammie. "Welcome back, sleeping beauty..." The nurse says all chirpy and Sammie looks at her confused but other than a soft thank you she stays quiet. She just watches what the nurse does... The nurse does some checks babbling on and on to Sammie who just stays silent. Before the nurse leaves, she tells us that the doctor will be right there.
