MILA

I open the door.

"Gloria, Good Morning, why are you here this early?" I ask as she walks into the apartment.

"Good morning, Mila. I could sense something was wrong over here, so I thought I should come to make sure you were okay my dear," she says with a smile.

Being the Grand high witch, she can tell if there is trouble or sense something is up.

I look at her and sigh. "I had the dream of the yellow scar rogue again. Please don't tell George. I don't want him to worry." I say as I walk back into the kitchen section of my apartment to make another coffee for myself and an herbal mint tea for Gloria.

"Ah, there must be a wolf nearby, my child. Don't threat," she says, taking a seat on my couch. "They will be gone soon. There have been some moving trucks up in the old territory"

I spin around and look at her in disbelief, "what do you mean? There have been no wolves here in years except for me," I say, feeling like I was going to be sick.

I don't want a pack to move in. It has been the only wolf here. If a pack comes, they might want me to go there, and I can honestly say that isn't happening.

Sensing the worry in me. "Don't worry, child, they won't know about you. They haven't made it known to us they are here. Barry was in the woods and mentioned it to George. George will find out, as he is in charge of our whole town, if they want anything," she says.

She looks at me. "As for the dream, we should keep a closer eye on you. What does Sapphire think?" She asks as I hand her tea to her.

"She seems to think it's a wolf coming to the border. I might look after this, just as a precaution, as I don't want to be surprised," I tell her as I sip my coffee.

She looks at me and smiles. "Mmm, I don't think so, child. I know you will not only kill the rogue before he even comes here, but you will want to nose at the wolves in the territory. Nothing will come of it, you know. They will make their presence known when they are ready, and we will make sure you are well protected. I will make sure you are safe as you are like my child Mila," she gets up from the couch, wraps her arms around me, and gives me a hug. Her scent gulfs me with warmth.

I love this woman so much and the rest of her family. I smile, knowing that she is right.

"We should still check it out. I mean the rogue, not the pack. I don't want them finding us, Mila, but I want to run for a bit to get rid of this tension," says Sapphire.

I sense she is on edge since finding out about the pack that might move in.

"Sapphire wants to check and also go for a run before we go to work. I sense she is on edge after what you just said about the pack. I checked the south border in wolf form and returned through the west entrance by Emily's house. We will make sure no one sees us," I say as I wander to the bathroom section.

Gloria looks at me but says nothing for a moment. I can sense she is trying to figure out something. "Very well. I will open the café for us to have an early morning. I will take the morning shift, and Angie will be in at eight, so you won't have to worry. You must be in for ten, as George wants to see you before work." She says as she heads towards my front door.

"Gloria, what meeting has he got this morning?" I ask her, but as I turn, she has gone. I know witches can disappear, but she does it all the time. It freaks me out so much.

I can hear Sapphire laughing. "She did the magic trick on you again, hahaha."

I smirked and changed into leggings, a baggy T-shirt, and sneakers. I take a rucksack as I have to undress to shift when I get to the south border, but if anything happens, I know Emily will have some clothes at her house. It all depends on what I find when I get there. I stick my long brown hair into a messy bun on top of my head. I look at myself in the mirror. My eyes are blue. I am quite slim, but I know how to kick some serious arse, especially since George and Barry train me. I need to defend myself, especially in my human form. In wolf form, Sapphire knows how to deal with the rogues. She is fierce and knows how to kill them. We are one. I am definitely grateful to have her in my life.

I leave the house and head to the south border of the town. The town is so quiet. The time is now six in the morning. No one will be awake yet. Our small town opens its doors at nine on the dot. Humans and supernaturals are welcome.

I head straight through the alley by the café and into the forest. I am close to the south border. It doesn't take long until I am hit straight away with the horrible smell of rotten eggs and death.

"I can smell two of them over to the right," snarls Sapphire, who is getting ready to come forward. "Sapphire, wait, they definitely got a death wish, but we must first see what they are up to. They might just be passing by," I say as I head toward the revolting stench of their scents.

"What do you suggest we do?" Snarls Sapphire. "We will track them and figure out what's happening. They might be curious about the new pack as we are," I say as I move between trees.

After ten minutes, the two rogues were a few feet away from us on their way to the border of the new pack's territory. As I am still in human form, I climb the tree where they are. With the ring that George gave me, it works like a charm.

I look down and try to lock on to what they are saying.

"The boss wants to know who's moving in. He thinks they will have that wolf he has been going on about for years," one says in a gruff voice.

"He needs a new hobby," the other says.

"I agree. Let's head over to the other direction. We won't go through the town. That bear shifter nearly bit my ass off until poor Trevor got his head bitten off by him," the other says as they both walk.

"Well, at least they are not heading into town, but what should we do, Sapphire? Follow them," I ask. I know what she wants to do, and I feel the same. We are going to follow them.

I wait until they move a few yards away and climb to follow them.

But soon realize that we are getting closer to the territory. I keep a suitable distance. They are close to the border but keep their heads down to look. There is a tree not too far from them. I climb it, trying to be as quiet as I can. I have to hide as I don't want them or the pack to know about me.

Once I am situated with the branches of leaves covering me, I can see the rogues below and the pack house.

The trucks there are huge. There are loads. It looks like the entire pack is moving in.

"The Moon Valley Pack is just fucking great. Alpha Leon is the most feared Alpha around and has killed many. I hope the boss doesn't want to wage a war with them. He will need more of us," says the gruffly-looking rogue.

"We can take them, especially when the boss finds who he is looking for. He has killed many packs looking for her, so that this one will be no different," the other says.

"They need to stop talking. They are making me feel sick," says Sapphire. She seems on edge. "What's wrong with you?" I ask.

Suddenly, I could smell the most intoxicating smell ever: a musky wood smell. It is coming towards the rogues.
