NATHANIEL
I am completely taken with the girl behind the counter. I don't even know why.
"She needs to learn how to respect her leaders," Alyssa snarls and places her hand on my upper thigh, which is too close to my cock.
The sexy counter girl looks up at her next customer, but I catch her taking a quick look toward us, mainly at me. I smirk, but she looks pissed.
"What shall we have then?" Says Eric.
Dane freezes by the side of me. A growl slips past his lips. It was quiet, but only the table heard him. We all looked at him, but he was staring at someone, but I couldn't see who.
The girls look at him but soon don't care; they go back to looking at the menus.
"Hey dude, you ok?" I asked him through a mind link, but I soon realized that a girl was heading towards us, and his eyes were glued to her.
I shake him and try to get him to snap out of it, but he just stares at her. "Huh, yeah man. I am ok. I will tell you once I know myself," he says. He is completely staring at the waitress.
"Hi. My name is Emily, and I will be your server. What can I get you?" She asks.
"Well, someone with good customer service skills, we all would like sodas and cheeseburgers with fries," Alyssa says.
I let a little snarl out at her, but she ignored me.
I look towards the counter and stare at the girl once again.
"No problem, but what do you mean about good customer service skills?" she asks, looking puzzled.
"Oh, that little bitch over there was unfriendly to our future Alpha," she says, pointing towards the girl at the counter who is now looking over at us and glaring.
My god, she looks damn sexy when she is angry, I think to myself. Wait. Where the hell did that come from?
"Oh, my sister, she is normally friendly, but she has been having a few rough days of late," she says. I turn to look at Emily. Emily looks over at their girl, who we now know is her sister, and sighs.
Emily was about to leave. "Are there any other humans here besides you and your sister?" I ask her. She looks at me a little surprised, which confuses me, but she recovers quickly. "There are humans here. Many are mated to a few shifters. We have many kinds of supernaturals here."
"What kind of other shifters are here? If you don't mind me asking," asks Eric quietly.
The entire room has gone tense. Emily looks around, and I know all eyes are on us. It is making her feel uncomfortable, but she says, "I can't tell you that. Ask the people around here. It is rude to ask people personal questions," she says, sounding off.
"I apologize for my friend's rude remark. We are just curious. We are not here to harm or hurt any of you," I tell her, giving her a smile. I look at the counter, and the girl looks at us. She is staring.
Emily looks over, smiles at her sister, and turns back to me. "Thank you for the apology. I will give you some advice, though. All people here, including humans, have really unpleasant experiences with wolves, rogues, and some packs. Please be careful when you approach people as they may react differently and might take offense," she says.
"I best get your order in to cook. Call me if you need anything," she says as she turns to head over to the counter to her sister.
"Everyone seems to have a problem with wolves. Wonder what happened to most of the people," says Josie. She is looking at the sisters like I am. I know Josie is searching for something as she looks between them.
Alyssa looked at me and realized where I was staring at. I can feel the jealousy coming off her. "Baby, can I help you in any way?" she says to me.
I look down at her and snarl. I lean in close to her ear. "Do not touch me. I told you not to cause drama here, especially as we don't know the issues people here have had."
Before I could lift my head to turn away, Alyssa placed her hand on my cheek, pulled me in towards her, and kissed me. Her tongue slips in my mouth and moves. I was so surprised by the action that I took a few seconds to realize what I was doing.
I moved back and glared at her, but my first instinct was to look at the girl behind the counter, only to find Emily glaring at me and the girl gone. I look around the café, thinking she might serve someone, but she is nowhere to be seen.
Alyssa was sitting next to me, smirking, thinking she had won. I grab her hand from my thigh and knock it away.
"Get the fuck off me, don't touch me again," I snarl at her. "Dude, calm down. People are looking at us," says Eric.
I look around to see people looking at us. Some held blank faces, but the surrounding energy told the story of their feelings.
"You fucked up," says Ox in my head and blocks me.
What the hell is he talking about?
I look to my left and see Dane glaring at me. "What the fuck was that? I thought you told her you weren't interested," he growls through a separate mind link between me, which takes me by surprise.
"What the hell, I told her, but she came to my room this morning. I couldn't help myself. Anyway, what is your problem? You haven't stopped looking at that Emily chick since we came in here," I asked him.
"For your information, I think she is my mate. Bo is going nuts, but he can't determine whether she is. What about you with the counter girl? You haven't stopped staring at her either," he says with a smirk.
"I don't know. Ox was calm at first, but now he is pissed at me and on edge. Never like this, and the girl is damn hot." I can't help myself.
I look over to Alyssa as she is in deep conversation with Josie, but she smiles as soon as she locks eyes on me. "I am sorry Nate; I was out of line earlier. I am going to use the restroom," she says as she gets up to leave.
What the hell, she never apologizes.
Emily came over about fifteen minutes later with all the sodas and burgers we ordered. Dane is so tense that he freezes when he touches her hand by mistake, but it is a shock to Emily, who looks at Dane too.
"You okay there, lover boy?" I say to him, mind link. He looks at her and then looks at me. "She's my mate, dude. The spark is there," he says with a smile.
I am so happy for my best friend. "CONGRATS MATE. Be careful. We can't take her to the pack, not on the first day of being here," I say, knowing how possessive behavior males are over their mates. I have seen countless times where many of the males would fight with another male because he even looked at his mate.
"I know Bo and I are going to come again when we don't have a crowd," he says.
I totally agree. I might even come back just to see the counter girl again. I'm completely taken with the girl behind the counter. I don't even know why.
