LUCAS
This cage is getting tiny.
How much blood does that bitch need?
I look up through the metal cage and see Bryce walking down the stairs. I've been lying on this stupid bed for the last few days as she lets me rest. Fargo, my dragon, is getting more feral every time we shift. I don't know how long I have tilled he fully takes over.
"You had to fuck her," I say to Bryce with annoyance in my voice.
He looks at me. "Sorry, man, I just wanted to get back at that wolf she has up there. She just fucked him as well, didn't she?" He knows the whole feeling as he is another of her so-called mates. She tricked both of us. We were under some spell. We even marked her even though she has marked none of us, well I know of five that she hasn't.
"He is under her control. I can feel it through my dragon," I said, slightly weak.
A loud sigh comes from within. "The stupid woman is a whore, fucking and having different men's children. So glad we made sure Brodie and Alanna got out safe," says Fargo in a deep voice. The amount of blood she has drained from us over the last few days has taken its toll on us. Lately, however, she has been injecting him with something that makes him sleepy when we turn back to humans.
Bryce looks at me with curiosity written all over his face. He looks at the door and whispers, "Do you think the white wolf is coming?"
I look back at him. I told him about the dream I had of her well. Archer informed me a few days ago of what he witnessed. He watched Devon kill Dallas and worked for his mother instead. Our so-called mate, if that's what you want to call her. He also killed that poor child's mother; Archer must have liked them to stay around for so long.
"I know she is, but we have to keep quiet and mention nothing as Aria will now, and then it will all go to pot," I whisper back to him.
He takes his corner of the room, which we are based in the basement. We never have stayed in a house, well, not for long at least, but both of us have slept well recently. That might be to do with whatever they have been giving us lately. We lived in a warehouse beforehand, but she moved us a few days ago.
I'm still in a cage, as it's the only way she gets Fargo to shift into his true form. I also ran away a few times from her, but the last time resulted in me being stuck here. She has placed a spell on this stupid cage. Bryce stays here as he hates her as much as I do. Her other mate escaped about a few months ago with Brodie, Alanna and another child, but she doesn't know where they are. Darrell will keep them safe till he finds help and, hopefully, someone he can trust.
The only other mate she has is dangerous but powerful, the vampire king. He is the sorcerer's true mate. But we all know why he wants her to have the power so he can kill every single shifter and have the vampire rule, so having the white wolf would make him more powerful. He wants to control all supernatural beings, especially the wolves. With the white wolf under his control, he can kill any and every wolf he wants by getting her to do so by commanding her. The sorcerer has her minions preparing for the whole ritual.
I sigh; I can hear Bryce snore slightly in the background. I turn my back to the cage door facing the wall. I wish my brother and sister were here.
"We are on our way, little brother," a small voice echoes.
I close my eyes, and as a tear escapes my eye, my brother Archer.
"It's me, Lucas, Mila, and I are on route to finding you. We need to know where we must go first," he says.
"It is so good to hear your voice, brother; I feel too weak. Can you project into a place for us to talk? I will look like I am sleeping here," I say through our mind link.
After a few seconds, I close my eyes, but when I open them, I see my brother. He looks back at me, shocked and concerned in his eyes. I can't help but look around. He brought us to the garden we once played as children. By god, we both look like our father.
"What the hell has happened to you, Lucas?" He asks, slowly taking my hand into his.
"Aria caught to me. I was under her spell, and somehow, I marked her. She continues to drain my blood, and someone injected Fargo with something that makes him sleep all the time, but she kept me in dragon form for a long time before recently changing me back into a human. I'm completely weak, Archer. She has an evil plan involving the white wolf," I said. I know I have to be quick. "I cannot stay long. You cannot come and find me as it is too dangerous, but you must find a man called Darrell. He has packages named Alanna, Darcey, and Brodie; Alanna is my daughter. I learned she wants to kill all of her children to gain more power, especially for the ritual she wants to do. She needs their essence. She also needs the white wolf, which could kill her or make her dark."
He gasps, "You have a daughter. What ritual is planning?" he says, but I know I am running out of time.
I nod and smile. "She looks like our sister; Aria has nothing in her. She is a complete dragon. You need to protect Alanna, Darcey, and Brodie. Brodie is the son of a bear shifter that she has forced to mate with her. Darrell will explain more about Darcey," I say. I take his hand and pull him into a hug. I miss him so much.
"Come back for me once Alanna, Darcey, and Brodie are away from this hideous place and safe, but only if you can. I will let you know what to do next. That's if I'm still alive." I smile, and so does he. "Bye, brother, I will let Mila know, and we will come for you," he says, but the dream vanishes.
My eyes fly open within seconds, and I turn back around to sit in bed. I lean against the wall as a tear slips down my cheek.
Bryce and I looked at each other, but suddenly, a loud bang came from the house. We both stare at the door.
We can hear running around, but we hear the one thing we dread: Louis. Crap, Louis is coming. We both can hear all the minions moving around and talking about how much they have to do for him, and they cannot wait to meet him finally.
I look over at Bryce, and we both smirk. "If only her minions know what he is truly like," I say, and he nods.
"It is all set. They are coming," I say quietly, and Bryce looks back at me with a slight smile. "At least they will be safe."
I agree with his statement. They might have a chance if we can move all the kids somewhere. The only ones we might have issues with are Lyle and Leela, the Louis twins, and Yuri, Yariel's son. We might persuade Garrett and Danny. Darrell took his daughter, Darcey, with him. Darcey needed to go; she was the last of her kind, and Darrell needed to protect her.
The movements upstairs are busy, and neither Bryce nor I say a word, but Bryce goes back to sleep while I sit staring at the door. We know evil will be here soon, but we have no clue when. We have to be patient. When he comes, everything will change once again. Hopefully, the white wolf can persuade the children to go with her somewhere to be kept safe.
I don't know her story, but it would be good if Archer were with her.
