Chapter 21

EMILY

Watching my sister suffer for the last few days has been hell.

I had to stay with her many nights, trying to help her through all the pain that her mate had caused her.

I have finally met my mate, Dane. He has been in the café more times since the first time we met. It has always been for coffee. I am feeling the mate bond. Mila and I haven't been taking the potions my father has given us. We seem to feel more like our old selves.

Dane has met my parents but not Mila; she keeps avoiding everyone.

I finally went to the pack house to meet Dane and his father, Beta Michael. They were very welcoming. I also met Eric and Nate, but that redhead has been around, still going on about her taking down the rogue that saved Nate's little brother. I know the truth. Mila saved him. Alyssa, which I found of Dane, was milking this for what it's worth. I also noticed her changing the story slightly.

Everything was going well until I had to leave. My grandmother called me to tell me about Mila, but didn't have to say anything as I could hear her scream in the background. Dane heard her. He looked worried. I had to leave, and he was ok with it, even though he wanted to make sure she was ok.

I found out the reason, which is, like always, Nate. Nate was having a blow job off that slut outside of his room. He could have gone into his room for privacy.

I went straight home; I needed to get out of there. I had to be with Mila.

Since that night, Dane has kept asking me questions about Mila. All I can tell him is that she is unwell. I hate lying to my mate, but I have my reasons.

I am on my way to pick him up now; we are going to spend a few hours with Mila. Well, we are going to convince her to spend time with us.

MILA

It has been a few days since the man whore of a mate was outside my apartment having sex with that slut from his pack. I know he has been in the café a few times, but I don't come down. I can't be trusted.

Sapphire is on edge all the time. I stay hidden in my tiny apartment.

Emily or Gloria takes my shift as he seems to come in every day, even sometimes staying all day, but I still won't come down.

Emily finally figured out the other guy was her mate, Dane. They have actually confirmed they are mates. Dane has been asking Emily where I am. I know she is lying to him.

Most nights, Emily has been staying with me, as it seems I can tell when they have sex. I get the most painful feeling in my chest that makes me scream. She has to hold me through it.

Besides my mate and his slut causing me pain to make the entire experience worthwhile, my nightmare is still coming back, and it is now causing me to have insomnia.

Sapphire is in pain, but we have both been stuck in this apartment. She is pissed at our mate. So am I. We want to shift, but can't because pack members are here. We both have been thinking we might reject him once we can figure out how to tell him we are mates to him.

More rogues have been coming into town. Pack members patrol the town at night to kill any rogues that come through. Only one person was killed by them as they slipped through unnoticed. They are definitely looking for something or someone.

My power has been building up, and I can feel the surge of energy flowing through me. George and Gloria have sensed it. George doesn't know about the soon-to-be Alpha being our mate, which I would like to keep that way. George has been acting strange.
