MILA

I woke up the next morning feeling tired. I haven't slept for long.

That image replying in my head didn't exactly help. I looked at the clock on the bedside table, and it read seven a.m.

I go to move as I'm in this desperate need to go to the bathroom, but I can feel an arm around me.

I forgot Nate stayed with me. I turn around to see his face. He looks handsome. He looks peaceful when he sleeps. I don't want to wake him, but every time I move, his hold on me gets tighter.

"Mila, what's wrong? Why are you trying to leave?" he says with a sigh, his eyes slowly open.

"I need the bathroom desperately," I said.

He looks at me.

"Sorry," he murmured as he let go of me, and I ran straight into the bathroom to relieve myself.

When I return, Nate is sitting on the side of the bed, looking at me. "Miles, Anna, and Archer are waiting for you in the hall for food."

I looked at him.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Ah, my father mind linked me to tell me, and also, he wants me to see him," he said.

I nodded but watched him as he stood up and moved around the bed.

He came right up to me, and I had a hard time looking up at him. He smirks and leans in. "I will see you later, Mila. By the way, you are one beautiful woman in the morning," he says.

I blushed.

"Thank you," I said as he took a sidestep and walked through the door but stopped to turn around with the same smirk plastered on his face.

"I had a hard time controlling my wolf last night, but I have to say you look good wearing one of my tops. Please keep wearing them. It makes us happy," he says. As soon as he says that, he goes, but as I am about to move toward the door, Emily steps inside, smirking. "Oh, ai, what happened last night?"

I look at her and blush hard but recover quickly.

"I had another one of my dreams about Devon's wolf. He appeared to me in a dream again but completely different," I said to her, relaying the dream to her.

She looks at me; I can sense her magic building up as her eyes are purple. I take her hand into mine.

"Em, it's ok I will explain everything to Archer when I see him," I said.

I noticed she brought some clothes into my room; I grabbed them and walked into the bathroom.

"And Nate, what happened there?" she asked, leaning into the doorframe, watching me.

I sighed.

"He heard me scream, and he came in," I said, trying to get ready. "He stayed as his scent calmed me down. We did nothing."

"Did you want to do anything with him?" she asks.

I nearly choked on my toothbrush. I spit out what's in my mouth and look at her. "I didn't, Em. I don't know if I can trust him enough yet to do anything with him."

"What does Sapphire want?" she asked. She returned to sit on the bed, and I stepped out of the bathroom.

"Sapphire is a horny dog and wants our mate," I said, but I felt weird.

But before I can say anything more to Emily and gather myself, I am being pushed back into the back of my mind.

Sapphire has taken over, to my surprise, and she puts a block up.

She blocked me.

She promised she wouldn't do that again!

SAPPHIRE

I had to do it. I needed to talk to Emily.

"Sapphire, why are you forward?" asks Emily, suddenly feeling uneasy by my presence.

"Emily, I had to come forward. I needed to tell you. She will not be happy with the block I put up on her," she gasps, but I carry on. "Mila is not taking this whole mate thing seriously. She can feel the mate bond I know she can, but she can't trust Nathaniel. She still replays what happened outside the house with him and that whore. I have seen her replay it over and over."

"Sapphire, Alyssa was killed by rogues alongside her parents. Alpha Leon banished them for what Alyssa did to Sam," Emily says. "I thought Nate had told Mila."

I shake my head.

"He hasn't. I think he is scared to mention anything regarding that girl to Mila just in case she goes nuts or something," I said.

"Do you want him as your mate?" she asks.

The question takes me aback, as I still don't know. I know his wolf had nothing to do with his humans' actions, but his human hurt mine in the worst possible way.

"Sapphire," she calls me.

"I don't know, Em; I know Ox wanted nothing to do with that whore, but he didn't try everything to stop his human from doing what he did. I want Ox, but I will not decide that until Mila accepts Nathaniel first," I said with a hint of sadness. I want my mate. Every wolf does, but I am closer to Mila than anyone else.

"You would sacrifice your happiness with your mate for Mila?" she asks, looking shocked but serious. "Sapphire, you can't do that."

I smiled at her.

"I want to. Mila has been through a lot, and we are one," I said with a little hope.

I can feel Mila trying to break the block I got on her.

I look at Emily one last time.

"I have to let her come back. Don't tell her anything. She will be so mad at me for doing that; I promised I wouldn't block her or keep her out of anything," I said.

I closed my eyes and took down the block, and I was shoved back further into her head. Mila looked at me with sadness.

"What the hell, Sapphire?" Mila grits.

I know she is ignoring Emily now, but I can sense she has left the room as I put her in an awkward situation.

"I had to talk to Emily," I said before I could say anything else.

"Sapphire, I want to know what you just said," she asks abruptly.

"Mila, there's nothing wrong," I said, but she was unconvinced.

"Well, I'm blocking you out for a while, then. You can see how it feels when everyone is hiding stuff from you," she says angrily to me.

Before I can say anything, I am pushed into the darkness.

The block is up.

I know I deserve it. I did it to her so many times in the past.

This will be hell; I need to know that Mila is alright.

I will sacrifice my happiness for Mila. I'm hoping Nathaniel will change her mind, but Mila's wound is so deep that I don't think even our mate can heal it. She found out she has a brother, a dragon for a guardian, and also shares his heart.

I think the one that throws her off more, even though she knows his scent, calms her; she might not even accept him.

I want my mate, Ox, but I have to wait for Mila to decide.

I look into the darkness I'm in, knowing I will be here for a while. I might as well rest as I don't know how long I will be here. I hurt my human again. Mila and I are one, and we are the Moon Goddess's creation. We need to be on the same page as each other.

Hopefully, we will soon when Mila calms down.
