GEORGE

I had to let a few tears escape my eyes.

"When all the rogues either left or were dead, I ran to find Faith gasping for breath. She died in my arms. I looked up and saw Archer carrying Mila. She wasn't moving. She was dead, too." There were gasps. "What do you mean she was dead?" asks a shaken and confused Luna.

I turn around and look at them. "Mila was dead, and we were in grief until a woman came to us in white. She called herself the Moon Goddess." Everyone's faces turned white, but they said nothing. "The Moon Goddess, I know, is some god to you wolves, but when she looked over Faith and Mila, grief hit her. She said there was a way to save the young one while holding her. She looked at Archer and told him he could share his heart. Since he was her protector, he could save her."

Emotionless faces and confused ones were looking back at me, but I carried on. "The Moon goddess asked for Drack's help when Drack came forward. I never thought I would ever witness a dragon cry. He was happy to help Mila, but before he could do it, there was a bright light, and Faith was right before us. She came before us all and stood beside the Moon Goddess, smiling. She wanted to watch the most amazing thing happen to her daughter. Drack took half of his heart from his chest, and the Moon Goddess placed it into Mila."

Someone interrupted me. "I never heard of a dragon giving half its heart to anyone," says Dane. "It sounds like a movie."

I sigh. "It sounds far-fetched, I know, but what most of you wolves don't understand is Mila has some witch's blood in her as she was not only a descendant of the Moon Goddess, but her grandmother was a very high grand witch too. When you mix a wolf, dragon, and witch together, you will get a powerful being," I said. "I saw nothing like it before, but as soon as Drack gave some of his blood, they became connected."

My eyes scanned over everyone while I continued. "Drack turned back into Archer, who kneeled and kissed Mila on her head. The Moon Goddess told us the magic would work once both Mila and Archer rested. Archer had to leave and rest, he needed to have his energy and would come back to help her when she needed it but the Moon Goddess was not even finished, she told us of some evil dark sorcerer who will hunt anything living supernatural who shows any form of magic. We all had to swear to protect Mila, another blood oath, but the day would come when there will be wars, but one will decide Mila's fate."

"When the Moon Goddess left, we stood there stunned, waiting for Mila to wake up and grieving for those we lost," I sighed. She didn't wake up for over a few weeks. Archer was exhausted and needed to go into hiding as his dragon needed to hibernate. He told me Mila would wake up but needed to rest. He would awaken when it was time, and she would come to find him," I said, looking around at some really weird and confusing faces.

"So Mila has gone to find Archer," asks Emily.

"Yes, daughter, she has. Sapphire knows where to go, as the magic within her will guide her. Archer is coming out of hibernation, and he will help us, mainly Mila," I said.

"You said you made a blood oath with Faith," said Luna Sophie suddenly.

I nod at her. "I did. She came to me after the fight with the three rogues by the cabin, and she told me to keep her oath. But before the Moon Goddess left after Mila was recovering, Faith asked me to keep her blood oath running until Mila turned eighteen. The blood oath came with a twist. She wanted Mila to forget what happened and to wipe her memories, but they would flood back when Archer woke from his hibernation."

Everyone was trying to wrap their heads around everything I just said. They all had stunned faces.

"You said there will be a war. What war?" asks Nate. I realized he had been quiet throughout, and since I told them about Mila.

"Ah, the war. I guess you have tried to integrate the rogues you captured to find out who they are working for," he nods. "Well, we did the same, but I used magic to get some answers from one idiotic rogue who spilled all over us. He was working for Devon and Yariel. They have tried to find Archer over the years, but they hit every dead end. They seem to believe that Mila is dead. Devon has become obsessed with looking around the town; he must have gotten word that a white wolf is around. They don't know about the dragon's heart, as we never mentioned it, because of the blood oath. They were sending wolves out here to test the boundaries of your pack. I think they will recruit more rogues."

I look at him and say, "I need to talk to you privately."

He looks up at me and nods.

"I know this is a lot of information to take in. I think it's best to rest up and wait for Archer and Mila to return. And I, for one, would like to be with my family," I say, but I turn to the Alpha. "Alpha Leon, I and the rest of the town people will help you in this war but I will state one thing you need not mention about everything you just heard as it could get back to Devon, it will help and also be a reminder Mila chooses her destiny not you. I might not be her family by blood, but I love that girl as if she were my own, and I will kill you if you try anything."

Keeping his eyes solely on him, he continued. "I won't mess with her destiny. I believe she is the savior for both my pack and the town. When I found out, I acted in a way that I now feel ashamed of, but the stories we hear as children about the white wolf are created for our history. But I will accept whatever she does," he says, and I nod toward him.

I step towards my wife and smile. I hold her in my arms. After a little while, we walk out the door, but Nathaniel follows us into the corridor. "George, I didn't know she was my mate. I know there was no excuse for my actions, and I am completely guilty. I want Mila in my life and will try everything to make it happen, but I will let her decide what she wants. I would rather stay as her mate and she leaves than not have her in my life and her hating me," he says. I look at him. He is a strong young Alpha but bared his true self to me. I'm amazed that his wolf is so willing. "Nate, your wolf, would he be so happy with you with what you just said to me?" The pain on his face says it all, and I can see his wolf come through. "Mate, mine, I want, mate. Stupid human didn't listen. I will help human help mate see us." And like that, his wolf retreats, leaving Nate looking at me.

"I think your wolf will help you get Mila back but I'm going to be honest, I think you are a good man young Alpha but you need to cut ties with that girl, if I see her anywhere near here I will kill her," I say but he cuts me off. "You don't have to worry about that. My mum, Luna Sophie, has sent a letter for her and her family to come to the office within the next hour. They all will be banished from the territory due to what we learned about Alyssa, her schemes on my younger brother, and her power trip to being my Luna," he says with a snarl.

I nod. "That's okay, young Alpha."

I was about to leave when I heard, "George, when will Mila be back?" He asked. I looked back at him and saw tears behind his eyes; this kid really cares about Mila. "I don't know, young Alpha, hopefully soon," I said and turned back to be with my family.

I turn around and see my little family standing outside a room; I'm assuming that this is ours. We settled into the room. I watch as my wife showers and gets into bed afterward. Emily has gone to stay in another room, which she shared with Mila. I hope that mate of hers does nothing or is with her.

After a few hours, I look up at the ceiling, Sybil sleeping soundly next to me. I get up out of bed and grab my phone. I walk into the bathroom and run the taps so she or anyone else can't hear me.

I ring the number. I know I have to tell her. All I could do for the last few hours was not ring her. I couldn't do it all those years because of the blood oath the stupid Moon Goddess and Faith placed, but now I can tell her everything. She needs to know what happened all those years ago.
