BETA MICHAEL

The bear shifter forced me out of the council building. He definitely doesn't like us. I wonder what the hell wolves have done to most of the people here. I look at the border where Nathaniel, Eric, and Dane are waiting for me.

"You need to leave now," says the bear shifter and turns to walk back into the building. But he stops on the steps and watches us leave. He clearly doesn't trust us.

"Well, what were they like?" asks Nathaniel.

"I can't hear anything in that building. They must have a spell or something around it," says Eric.

"There is a high warlock there who threatened to kill me with a swift of his hand," I said, trying to figure out if I believed him or not. But Eric is right, we can't hear anything. That isn't good.

"Let's talk to your father Nate, we have to wait and find out what they come up with. But the way they all were, I probably would have been dead on-site," I say and turn as all four of us get ready to shift into our wolf forms.

We shift and run toward the pack house. Heading straight into the nearly completed pack house, we all shifted back into human forms as we understood the steps. Alyssa, as always, is waiting for Nate again at the top of the steps. That boy needs to find his mate soon. Alyssa is not Luna material and I know that Alpha Leon and Luna Sophie really don't like her.

I leave them kissing on the step and head straight to Alpha Leon's office. I open the door to find my old friend sitting at his desk, doing paperwork.

"Well, what did they say?" He asks without looking up from what he is doing.

I sigh. "There are definitely different supernatural beings there. They have different members on the council. They all agreed that there was no wolf there. I did sense some humans around the town; they could be mates of the shifters. The rogue must have been wrong about a wolf being there."

He looks up at me and sighs deeply. "What were they like?" He says as Nate, Eric, and Dane come strolling into the room and take the couch.

"Well, there are definitely witches and warlocks there. The mayor is high grand by the look on him. There are vampires, as one was on the board, which I might add looked like she wanted to drain all of my blood. There was also a bear and a cat shifter. The cat shifter might disagree, as I know there are few of her kind left. I got the sense they all had more running with wolves. It felt like a sanctuary for anyone who needs it." I say, taking the chair in front of him.

"Why do we need to go into town, anyway?" I ask as I have been wondering this since Alpha Leon mentioned going there.

He looks at me and raises his eyebrows at me. "You questioning me, Beta, I think it might be in their best interests if we look out for them, especially with all the rogues that have come through lately."

"I didn't mean to question you, Alpha. That seems to be a fair comment. But there are definitely no wolves around the area," I say.

"There was definitely someone up in the tree earlier when the rogues came to the border. I could sense it," says Dane.

"Maybe whoever it was, wanted to know what we are like," says Eric

"Whoever it was, didn't want anyone to know who they were. Strange," says Nate.

"We just have to wait and see what happens. That's all we can do," I say, looking at all the men in the room.

"You know your mate could be in this town," says Dane with a smirk at Nate. "I doubt it, man, if there are different supernaturals and humans living there I would dread to think who I end up with," he says with a grin.

Looking towards Alpha Leon, he is disgusted with the way his son speaks "I think you should have some respect son, if your mate is human or a different shifter, you will love her and I would also like to suggest keeping that tramp away too, she has no authority in this pack," he growls at him," he growls at him.

"Nate," he growls.

Nate looks at his father, a blank expression on his face. "Alyssa isn't my mate, but I can choose who I want to be with and to help me run this pack," he snarls at him and moves off the couch.

"You think I would hand over this pack to you? If you chose her, you can forget it, Nate. It's not up for discussion," Alpha Leon shouts back and Nate leaves with the other boys following him.

Alpha Leon sighs. "What am I going to do with him?"

"Give him some space, but I think we should monitor her. I don't like her," says a small voice coming through the door, Luna Sophie.

She takes her place next to the Alpha and holds his hand. "What happened in the town, Michael?" I tell her everything. She looks at me with shocked eyes. "No wonder they don't like any of us. If they all have had issues with wolves in their pasts, they might want nothing to do with us. I think we should wait till the warlock comes back to us and see what happens but till then we need to make sure everyone here understands the importance of staying away from the town, to make sure they are all safe and no one disturbs the peace," she says softly.

We both agree with Luna. We all decide to wait it out.

Luna Sophie goes and looks after Sam, their youngest child, while I stay behind and help Alpha Leon with some of the paperwork. I know Maria, my mate, is busy sorting out the hospital since being the pack doctor. As Alpha Leon checks the emails that have been sent, I take a handful of paperwork and complete some on the couch.

After a few hours, "WELL, WELL, WELL, there is an email from the town's mayor. Since they had been discussing this for about 4 hours, they finally came to an agreement." He says and continues to look at the email. He looks up at me and smiles.

"They have agreed for us to come into town but they are going to hold a town meeting to notify all the town what they discussed we can enter the town in a week's time but they ask if we only send a few at first so the people can except the wolves. They want to make sure everyone agrees," he says with a hint of glee in his voice.

Alpha Leon can be tough but we all know that he has a heart of gold, especially when he lost his friend Alpha William to a pack of rogues which killed all of his family including his daughter Faith who was Luna Sophie's best friend.

He will always hunt down and kill rogues till they are all dead. I know little about what happened, but I know I wouldn't want to be any rogue that comes into contact with us.
