MILES
I suddenly woke up but in pain. I try to figure out where I am and get all my senses in check before I move.
I sit up and lean against the tree. I look around and realize I'm in the forest.
"Miles, you okay, human?" Max said. I could sense him looking through my eyes.
"Where did Mila go?" he asked straight away and on high alert.
I suddenly realized I had come here to learn about Mila.
Suddenly, everything hits me in full force.
"Shit, Mila, Where are you?" I shouted as I stood up and looked around. I don't know where she went; her scent has gone.
"Max, can you smell her scent?" I asked as I kept looking around the forest, turning full circle.
"No," he said, still sniffing the air. "It's like she has vanished."
I could feel my heart break again; I had lost her again, my only family member.
"What's wrong, Miles? Max? I can sense your emotions." Libelle's voice fills my head.
I sighed.
"Mila has vanished. She flung her wrist at me, and I went straight into a tree," I said, but then realized how Mila was when she learned Libelle listened in on our conversation.
"Libelle, she was angry that you were listening to our conversation. She never mentioned the last bit to anyone, not even her wolf," I said. "Also, I know she has blocked her wolf, too."
Libelle sighed.
"Make your way down; Drack is worried. He can't help or get through to her either," she muttered.
I turned on my heel and returned the way I came with Mila. Coming closer to the pack house, I could see Anna and Archer running towards me.
"We need to find her. She's in danger if she is alone," Archer said, sounding worried.
I nodded, but I heard the fierce growl and knew who it was—her mate.
Nathaniel runs over to us with Emily, Dane, and George on his heels.
"Where is Mila? Why did you come back alone?" he shouted.
I looked at him, and I couldn't help the anger that flowed through me. Everything that Mila said comes back in an instant.
I know Libelle told Anna, Archer, and Drack as they were glaring at him.
"You fucked a woman in front of my sister's house," I bellowed. "Where were your morals as an alpha? She watched you and that woman."
Nate looked taken back, and I could feel the guilt running from him—not just himself but also his precious followers.
"Mila was angry and needed to talk," I said. "She told me everything. All the lies and the secrets that were kept from her, and you, her mate, the man whore, I think that's what she called you, are stupid. You be lucky if she will take you back."
I walked toward him with my fist clenched.
"I bet you don't know she constantly relives through that whole moment every time," I spat.
I looked at Emily.
"You knew of this morning," I said. "Sapphire must have told you what she could see, as our wolves know our most hidden and darkest thoughts."
Emily looked down at the ground, but she said nothing.
"What did you and Sapphire talk about when her wolf blocked her?" I shouted.
