MILA
Sapphire and I wanted to know.
Luke looks on, sensing the story's form, but his anger and sorrow are visible in his features.
Archer relayed everything for us to hear, but after the story that he told, I was a sobbing mess. Poor Emily, Poor Sybil. George must have been in on the whole thing. To watch your child being killed by a woman and even taking part in it is a hatred in itself. My hatred towards George was valid for what he did to us, but after finding out what he did, I'm glad he's dead.
Sapphire growled in my head. "I'm glad the warlock is dead," she roars.
I had to take deep breaths to calm both Sapphire and me down.
Archer and Luke stare at me. They both say nothing about it.
After a few seconds, I turn around and look at the window. Sapphire is trying to settle down, but she feels uneasy.
"What's wrong, Sapphire?" I ask.
She sighs. "All our friends and mate have been through so much while we are gone. We need to get home soon."
I said nothing. I knew what she was thinking, and I felt it, too. I wanted to be back with them all. I couldn't help the tear that slipped down my cheek.
"What is wrong, little dove?" Archer says in a whisper.
I turn to him and give him a small smile. "I miss my friends... my mate, too."
He gives me a knowing look and gently takes my hand into his. "I know, little dove. Hopefully, we will be back soon."
I nod, but something has been puzzling me since we headed here. When we rest after flying or even hiding, I notice that he seems to mind linking with someone or leaving his body somehow. My magic is picking it up.
"Archer, who do you mind link when we are resting?" I asked him, "Why are we heading to Poland?"
He looks down and stares at our hands, but there is a look that I can't read on his face. He looks up to see Luke's face staring at who is nodding at him. "I guess I should tell you... You see, I can connect with Anna through a dream state. We can meet in a place known to us both and talk. That is how I found out about the war, but I have been reaching and searching for Lucas, and I realized that my little brother Lucas is alive and he told me who has him, the person who is behind all of this is a sorcerer, but she calls herself a witch," he says with a snarl.
He looks back at me. "Lucas was in hiding for many years when we were all separated, but he soon found his mate, or so he thought. The woman who has him captured is supposed to be his mate, but she has many mates." I look at him, confused.
"That can't be. We only have one or even two," Luke says. "How can she have multiple partners?" he says, but something registers in his head. "Unless they are Alphas, maybe, but she isn't even a wolf or a shifter. We all know a sorcerer doesn't normally have mates unless a supernatural is hers. She shouldn't have one," he says.
"That's what Lucas said. He had seen her many times before, but she never came to the scent of a mate. He never revealed who he was, so he was shocked that she could approach him and say mate. He thinks she put a spell or something on him and made him hers. He marked her. He told me that the mark is only one way; she has multiple partners. She uses them for one thing," Archer says, looking between us.
"What's that?" I ask. Sapphire is looking on and listening in.
Archer looks at us and then sighs. "She uses them to get pregnant," he says, and I look back at them stunned. "Pregnant? Why would she want babies by different men?" I ask.
Luke looks back, shocked, but clears his throat. "I think I know why," he says. A sorcerer cannot produce magic like a witch; she has to have essence. The essence from that baby, especially from a shifter, has more magic in it," he says.
"Why would she need their essence?" I ask, but I have a funny feeling that I won't like where this conversation will end.
"She will keep the babies around and kill them when she grows weak. She will have any form of child. They have to have her blood and a supernatural being she mates with, or the essence won't work," he says.
I look at him. "She killed Sybil and George's baby for his essence. The baby wasn't hers," I say. I'm starting to dislike this bitch.
"I don't know why, but I think George made a deal with her and promised his son for her to have," he says.
My mind is running around so badly I let slip a growl from my lips.
"Little dove, you ok?" Archer asks.
I nod. "I'm pissed at what she has done. What did Lucas say?"
He stares at me. "He found out what she was doing. She has minions working for her. I don't know what he meant by that, but he overheard them talk about what she intended to do in front of his room. Lucas was worried, as he has a daughter with her."
I gasp, but he continues shaking his head. "He tried linking me and Anna, but because of the war and the blood she has been draining from him, he has been very weak. He had been in his dragon form for a while, but when he mind-linked me a few times, he returned to his normal self. That's when I received word about the whole thing from him," his face was pained and worried. "I don't know what to think. My brother may die if she carries on draining his blood, but I have a niece who needs saving, too."
I look at him and take his hand in mine. "What's the plan?"
He looks back at me. "Little dove, you need to hide. You cannot help me."
"Like Hell I'm not helping you, you are my guardian and friend. We are doing this together," I say, and Sapphire agrees. "Mila, let me talk to him. I won't block you out, I promise," she says.
I close my eyes and let her push me back for her to come forward. "Archer, I won't let anything happen to Mila, but we are helping you. That bitch needs to be stopped."
Archer raises his eyebrows, and Luke looks on shocked. "Her wolf?" Luke looks between Archer and me, and Archer nods but keeps his gaze on Sapphire. "Sapphire, I would be honored for that,' he says, 'but we need to ensure the safety of both you and little dove. Your blood is the most important ingredient for any spell, and if she catches you, we don't know what she will do.'"
Sapphire nods and pushes me forward but stays close to see what we come up with.
I look back at Archer. "Sapphire is right. We need to help. Besides, if I'm the savior to all the supernatural beings, I need to save them," I say, but I can sense a plan forming, and I know Sapphire likes it.
I look back at him. "I have a plan, but we will need Luke to help us. Also, you might want to involve Anna when you can get hold of her, but she can't tell anyone what is happening with us unless we need them to know. I can't go back, but we can send some of the children back to the pack with a warning about who we are dealing with, and maybe we can end the whole situation there, too. We also need to know how many children she has. Archer asks Lucas how many children she has," I say.
They both look at me, nodding their heads. "The plan must be solid proof, but we can make something work," says Luke. Archer agrees, but he smiles. "I think Lucas will agree," but I can see the hint of sadness for his brother in his eyes take over.
"Archer, once we got all the children from her clutches. We will save Lucas. He is part of you and Anna. You both are family to me and Miles," I say to him. He smiles with a little of hope. "I hope so, little dove."
I lean over and place a small kiss on his cheek with a knowing smile. "Trust me."
I lean back and smile at both of them.
I turn to look out of the window. We know we are looking for children, but I still don't know what awaits me. I hope the Moon Goddess will tell me soon or give me clues. I am hoping to save the children and Archer's brother, Lucas.
Sapphire nods in agreement with me. "We can do this, Mila; we were born to protect." I nod.
I agree with her; we can do this.
