NATHANIAL

She ran away from me as soon as I touched her.

I'm in shock.

Ox is stunned that she would do that. He wanted to get to know her.

He hasn't been talking to me, as he hates what I have been doing with Alyssa. He ignores me, but when we come to the café, I can feel him there, thinking we will see her, which seems to calm him. However, every time we are there, she is never there.

I always think back to the day I met her. I also found her name before I left. The entire scene plays out in front of me again when Sam walks into the café.

FLASHBACK

We all ate, but halfway through our meal, the door opened quickly, and the smell of blood floated. I stand up and look at the door and realize that my younger brother Sam is covered in blood.

"Sam, what happened?" I ask, running up to him, checking for injuries, but I can't find any.

I take him over to our table and make him sit. He is shaking.

Suddenly, Emily places a glass of water in front of him and kneels beside him, looking at him. "You okay? What happened?" She asks smoothly.

"I wanted to come into town with you, big brother. I followed you here and got lost. I ended up at the back of the café when a rogue spotted me. He was angry and came charging up to me, but someone knocked me down and told me to hide. When I looked up from my hiding space, the person who had saved me had gone, and the rouge was dead," he says really quietly.

I can feel the anger building up. "Do rogues come into town?" I ask, looking up at Emily.

I can finally sense we have gained a crowd around our table. The shocked faces of the customers standing by explain a lot. Alyssa is standing there, too.

Emily looks up at me and shakes her head. "No, they don't."

I look at my brother, who is still shaking, "I think we will leave now. I need to get my brother back home," I say, looking at my friends.

They all get up and leave. Dane carries Sam but looks back at Emily as he leaves.

The others follow him. I head to the counter and realize that we have to pay, but when I get there, an elderly woman is standing there smiling at me.

The girl didn't come back. I have to see you here again.

I pay the bill for our order, but before I turn to leave, "I hope your brother will be okay. Rogues never come into town. I hope we will see you soon," the old woman says to me with a smile.

I nod. "I will have some of our pack members patrol around later on when it's night and keep watch to make sure they don't come back again," I say and turn to head out the door.

"Her name is Mila if you are wondering." I look back at the old woman, stunned. "She is not what you expect," and she leaves to return to the back of the café.

I stare back at the door the woman went through, and I have the biggest smile on my face. I finally have a name, Mila. I now know who I will dream of tonight, I thought as I pushed open the door and headed back to the others.

FLASHBACK ENDS

I finally knew who the counter girl was.

I was so excited to come back to the cafe to see Mila, but she had never been there. I tried everything, even staying there till closing. Gloria kept looking at me and glaring. I thought she wanted me to get to know Mila. Why would she tell me her name but act differently?
