NATHANIEL

It has been two days since Mila left, and the pack is in full swing of getting prepared for the upcoming war. My father has been in the office with George, trying to persuade other packs to help us. One pack confirmed they will be helping us, The Black Stone Pack. They are the second largest pack to ours as we have been growing our pack over the years. They were more than happy to help; they told my father and George they would arrive in a few hour's time, which was the best news of the morning.

Ox and I have been pacing the floors day and night, staring out the window, waiting for our mate to return. We have now come to a common ground; we will return to our mate. My mind has been full of thoughts of Mila. I have gone nowhere near any she-wolves. Most know that Mila is my mate, but the girls Alyssa bothered with have been trying to get with me but haven't succeeded.

We banished Alyssa the same night as her parents. I threw her over the border, crossing myself. I hate her for what she did to my little brother and Mila. She told me she found her mate three days prior. She was sleeping with both of us. He rejected her before me when he found out what she had done. He was one of our pack's warriors who had been out looking for the last few months into other packs. He told me he would stand right beside me.

But yesterday, around midday, we found their bodies slaughtered by the river. We couldn't even recognize Alyssa, as she was in pieces. They must have stopped for something before the rogues got them. No love was lost here on my part, only the longing for my mate.

"You need to go to the office. Dad has something he wants to talk to you about," Sam says suddenly. I look towards Sam, who looks cheery. I nod but still look through the window. Sam comes to my side. "Brother, she will be back soon," he says, leaning on my arm. "She will," he kisses my arm. I nod and give a slight smile.

I head out of my room, which is more like Mila's old room, and head straight to the office. Once I walked in, my father was sitting in his chair, looking through something. When I closed the door, my dad looked up at me and gave me a small smile. "How are you doing, son?" he asked.

I look at him. "I'm fine, dad. Sam said you wanted to talk to me about something."

He looks at me and nods. "I was talking over with George, and we think you should go to meet The Black Stone Pack halfway to show your willingness."

I looked at him, baffled. "Why would you send me out there? You know I have been waiting for Mila to come back."

God, I sound desperate.

"I know, son. We don't know how long she will be. You haven't left her room since she left. I know it's only two days, but I think it will be good for you. Besides, you are the next Alpha to this pack," he says, now standing up and coming up to me. He looks me in the eye, and his eyes become softer. Son, we are worried about you, please."

I take an enormous sigh and nod. "I will go, but I'm taking Dane, Emily, and Eric. You also have to let me know when Mila comes back."

My father smiles at me and hugs me. I hugged him back. He lets go of me and moves away but says, "Mila will have to do some training with her dragon friend."

I nod. "How are you feeling about the whole dragon thing?" I ask. I don't mind George's entire story. I think it is cool that someone took the time to protect Mila, especially when she lost everything, even her life.

My father looks at me for a moment. "Honestly, I'm humbled. I sounded power crazy about hearing about Mila and the dragon, but talking more with George helped. I will have to apologize to Mila when I see her," he smiles.
