MILES

We all turn towards Gloria, who is now comforting Emily. "You must know, my son was the only warlock left of my coven. I was the high grand witch, so I'm known for being powerful. My son is powerful, but he believes he could use the white wolf's blood to defeat Dallas and his son. They work with a warlock named Yariel. Yariel is full of darkness and could lead anyone into the darkness, but only if they have darkness within their own mind. Mila has had a lot to happen to her. I bet now her power is coming in. She can remember everything that she had to do to those wolves and what happened to her."

"What do you mean, those wolves? I thought they were rogues," says Alpha Leon, knowing he has asked what every wolf's mind in this office wants to know.

Gloria looks down. "She killed the rogues, but there were some pack wolves sent to check all over after your family's pack was slaughtered," she says, her gaze fixed on me. I wince at the thought. But Alpha Leon looks angry. "We sent five members out to look in this direction. You mean to tell me that Mila killed them?"

His face is red with anger.

"My son knows how to manipulate someone's mind to do what he wants. He has done it to Mila all the time. Mila and Sapphire never knew what they were doing. They were under a spell. I didn't know what he was doing till Gerald, a warlock from a different coven, came out to stay with us. He told me everything as he was worried about what it could do to Mila in the long haul," she says.

"Mila used to wake up covered in blood and do not know of what happened," says Emily suddenly. "He manipulated me too, didn't he?"

Gloria nodded. "Yes, my dear, he knew you would protect her till you die as her friend and sister," she says, but she looks at me. "Emily only knows certain things. When Sapphire relays everything to Emily, George collects everything from her when she is asleep, leaving her unaware of any conversation. Sapphire was quick to catch on, though. She told me about it instead."

I smile at her, a weak one. "Where is Mila now?" I ask, worrying about her. I know everyone is worried about her. You can see it in their faces.

"She has gone out of mine and Emily's version. She even blocked Sapphire out, too," she sighs. "I think you need to pray to your Moon Goddess. Hope that she gets to her first and tells her everything herself."

We all look on, worried, not only for Mila but about the upcoming war.

I pray to the Moon Goddess that she helps guide Mila and Sapphire to where they need to be, but I have a funny feeling that they will not return until we need them.

I looked over at Nathaniel. He had a glum look on his face. He wants his mate.

He has now gone over to the window and is facing it.

I walk over to him. We can hear all the whispering about what they should do about George. He senses my presence but doesn't turn to look at me.

"She has to come back," he says with a guilty voice. "I didn't tell her anything about Alyssa."

Who the hell is... AHH... the woman he was with at the time?

But before I can say anything, he carries on. "I banished Alyssa after we learned she lied about saving my brother. I felt every emotion as I wanted Mila, but Alyssa was very forward about being with me, even though I was uninterested. We even banished her parents as we learned they were stealing from the pack. They left, and about two days later, we found their bodies by the river. Rogues killed them." He sighs, "I was thinking with my dick not my head, my wolf wanted our mate and he wanted Mila. We still do, and we want to make it up to Mila and both of them."

I can tell he is sorry for what he has done. "I'm sorry for having a go. I felt her pain. Knowing what she saw, Sapphire would have sacrificed having you and your wolf if Mila didn't want you. But after talking with my sister, I think she would try to work it out with you. But I suggest you do one thing: you ask to speak to Sapphire first and let Mila talk to your wolf. You both might better understand each other," I say.

"Why would you suggest that?" he asks suddenly, and I know he is looking at me. I sigh. "My mate Ella and I had a misunderstanding. Both of our wolves had conflicted feelings, so my wolf, Max, suggested he talk to her, and I would talk with her wolf, Ariel. It was the best way to get everything out and hear all four sides of what's happening."

I turn to him with a smile. "Your wolves will have a connection with each other's humans. It is best all around, especially with what Mila has been through, as your wolf needs to understand her as well as you need to understand Sapphire."

He nods. "That sounds like a plan. Hopefully, we can still do it," he sighs and looks back through the window. I can tell everyone has left except Dane. He is standing by the door, waiting for Nate.

"Nate, Mila will come back. She needs to figure out what is going on and who she is. She can't show you who she is if she doesn't know herself," I say, turning on my heel. I pat his shoulder. "She has to come back. I don't want to lose a sister either," I said, feeling the sadness. Take me for a moment.

I leave the office, leaving both of the men in it. I head to my room; I know Ella is awake and waiting. I mind-link the guards to protect her, and she is not to leave her room because of the danger we are facing. I have to tell Ella about my sister; once I knew, she wanted to know everything about her. She is part of our family and our babies. We need her.

I silently pray to the Moon Goddess for my sister's safe return and then head to my room.
