After dinner, Nighttime..
(Y/n)'s POV
"I'm going out for a walk. I will be back later."
"Okay. Be careful, (Y/n). Don't stay outside for too long. It's freezing tonight."
"I have my coat with me this time. Don't worry."
It didn't take me long to have Rei-nii's permission to take a walk outside by myself. He wanted Suba-nii to accompany me but I refused since I wanted to be alone. Night walk was simply one of the many ways I practiced to take my mind off of worries.
I strolled around the neighborhood, running into some older neighbours who were on their way back home from work. Most of the neighborhood residents were office workers so it wasn't surprising to see them at this hour.
"I'm hungry.."
I just ate dinner, but every time I was lost in my thoughts, my stomach growled at some point.
There's a convenience store nearby. I should go there.
I changed my direction, and made my way to the convenience store while humming my favorite song. The automatic door detected me and slid open. I grabbed a shopping basket and went over to the junk food aisle to find my favorite one.
Hmm, I should buy some for my brothers.
Before I knew it, the entire basket was stuffed with junk food, chocolates, candies and all types of unhealthy food existed in this world. Once I was satisfied, I decided to back away from the junk food aisle to make the payment.
Absorbed in my thoughts, I became unaware of everything surrounding me. I stumbled into another customer and dropped my basket to the floor.
"Ouch, ouch..." I rubbed my aching forehead. Was this customer made of bricked wall or something?
"I'm sorry!" The person I ran into frantically apologized. My heart pounded fast when I recognized that voice. Parting open my eyes and lifting up my head, I almost shed tears. Kakuchowas the one standing before me, him seizing my basket.
"(Y/n)-san... I-It has been a while.." The way he greeted me, I could tell he was nervous.
After that incident with Izana, of course it's gonna be awkward for us..
"Ah- Uh- I'm sorry about this.. I didn't mean to stand in your way."
"It's okay. I was the careless one."
I took my basket that Kakucho handed over to me. I glanced at the thing he had in his palms and my heart wrecked.
Cold medicine? Is he...sick?
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I am. Wait, were you hurt?! We should-"
"No, no. I'm good. I'm asking you, Kaku. Are you having fever or something?"
