After dinner, Nighttime..
(Y/n)'s POV
"I'm going out for a short walk. I will be back later."
"Okay. Be careful, (Y/n). Don't stay outside for too long. It's freezing tonight."
"I have my coat with me this time. Don't worry."
It didn't take me long to gain Rei-nii's permission to take a walk outside by myself. He was planning to have Suba-nii accompany me but I politely refused since I wanted to be alone. Night walk was simply one of the many ways I practiced to take my mind off of worries.
I strolled around the neighborhood, running into some older neighbours who happened to be on their way back home from work. Most of the neighborhood residents were office workers so it wasn't surprising to see them at this hour. Occasionally, I came across my neighbors who returned home past 10:00 p.m..
"I'm hungry.."
I just ate dinner, and I was aware of that fact, but everytime I was lost in my thoughts, my stomach growled from hunger at some point.
There's a convenience store nearby. I should go there.
I changed my direction, and made my way to the said convenience store while humming my favourite song. The automatic door detected my presence and slid open for me. I eagerly grabbed a shopping basket and went over to the junk food aisle to find my favourite one.
Hmm, I should buy some for my brothers.
Before I knew it, the entire basket was stuffed with junk food, chocolates, candies and all types of unhealthy food existed in this world. Once I was satisfied with the amount of goods in the basket, I decided to back away from the junk food aisle to make payment.
Absorbed in my thoughts, I became unaware of everything surrounding me. I stumbled into another customer and dropped my basket to the floor.
"Ouch, ouch..." I rubbed my aching forehead. Was this customer made of bricked wall or something?
"I'm sorry!" The person I ran into frantically apologized. My heart pounded fast when I recognized that voice.
Huh? That voice..
Parting open my eyes and lifting up my head, I almost shed tears at this very moment. Kakuchowas the one standing before me, him seizing my basket with all the goods I planned to purchase.
"(Y/n)-san... I-It has been a while.." The way he greeted me, I could tell he was nervous. This realization saddened me as I was used to him being all energetic.
After that incident with Izana, of course it's gonna be awkward for us..
"Ah- Uh- I'm sorry about this.. I didn't mean to stand in your way."
