In the hospital..

The doctor stood by your bedside, checking the monitors and flipping through your chart. "It's... nothing short of a miracle," the doctor concluded at last. "We almost lost you. You coded for a moment. But you fought your way back."

You replied with a nod, eyes darting to the man beside him, Dr. Miyamura, your therapist. He adjusted his posture and took a step forward, his clipboard resting lightly against his chest. "You gave us quite the scare." He pulled up a chair beside your bed.

"I just want to ask a few questions, alright? Answer as truthfully as you can."

You nodded again. As weak as your body was, your voice was clear when you spoke. Dr.Miyamura began asking all the standard questions, jotting down your answers and extra notes of his own thoughts.

Dr. Miyamura glanced down at the chart in his hand one last time. His brows lifted slightly in surprise before a smile spread across his face. "Alright," he announced, setting the clipboard aside. "That's all for now. I'll take my leave, okay? A nurse will come by shortly to deliver your food. You must be hungry."

You chuckled, your voice still raspy but warmer now. "Starving."

He rose from the chair beside your bed. "I'm glad to hear that. Take it easy," he added, offering one last reassuring glance before stepping outside and shutting the door behind him.

As Dr. Miyamura turned, he found himself standing before a group of people who looked like they hadn't slept in days.

Izana stood at the front while Kakucho was next to him, trying to stay calm but failing to hide the worry etched deep into his face. Kanji had his hands shoved into his jacket pockets, eyes red-rimmed. Yasuhiro stood tall but quiet, his gaze fixed on Miyamura. Ran leaned against the wall, looking uncharacteristically serious, while Rindou stood beside him, chewing nervously at the inside of his cheek. Shion was seated, staring at the floor with clenched fists.

Beside them... your family.

Subaru, eyes tight with anxiety, Ayato, standing stiff and alert. Reiji had his hands behind his back. Tougo was the only one standing and approaching Dr. Miyamura.

"She's stable and thriving."

A collective sigh swept through the hallway.

Subaru stepped forward. "May we...?"

Miyamura smiled. "Certainly. She does need company."

They all nodded, some more eager than others.

Dr. Miyamura turned to Tougo. "Ah, yes. Tougo-san. Y/n is mentally capable and emotionally stable enough to attend court when needed. She's eligible to testify."

Tougo's eyes softened immediately before he let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. Relief washed over his features, though it was lined with exhaustion.
