In denial, in perplexity. She didn't know
how to deal with these strange feelings
and emotions budding within her as she
spent time with her six male friends.
Growing up surrounded by men her
entire life, she...

Ran was lounging on the couch, his legs propped up on the coffee table, checking his phone when the front door creaked open. His eyes flicked over. "Welcome home~"
Rindou stepped inside, still in his school uniform. He didn't respond and just let out a sigh, shrugged off his bag, and let it drop to the floor. Wordlessly, he walked past the living room and headed straight for the fridge.
Ran's brows lifted slightly. "You good, Rin?"
Rindou popped open a beer and leaned against the counter, drinking in silence. He didn't look at Ran and, again, just sighed. Ran tilted his head, narrowing his eyes in amusement. A thought hit him, and his grin widened. "Don't tell me... you got rejected by Y/n?"
That earned him an instant glare.
"Don't joke about that," Rindou warned, aggravated. "She hasn't said anything... at all."
For a split second, something shifted in Ran's gaze. But it disappeared just as quickly, his usual teasing smirk masking it. "Still no answer, huh? Guess we are in the same boat. I've been waiting for a call or text from her."
Rindou paused mid-sip, staring at his brother from across the kitchen. "I thought we agreed not to talk about this."
Ran just shrugged, strolling over. "We did. But I never said we couldn't talk about waiting for an answer. That's different. The deal was not to say what her answer is, not that we couldn't guess."
Rindou was clearly unimpressed. "Splitting hairs, as usual."
"Well, that's why I'm the older brother."
Rindou rolled his eyes and downed another sip of his beer, deciding it wasn't worth the energy to argue. It never was, with Ran.
Suddenly, Ran slung an arm over Rindou's shoulder and pulled him into a side hug. "C'mon, let's kill time while we wait. Wanna cook together?"
Rindou let out a grunt of annoyance at the sudden affection. "You're so annoying."
"But you love me," Ran chimed, already dragging him toward the kitchen counter.
Despite his grumbling, Rindou didn't pull away. He followed, resigned, setting the beer can down and washing his hands.
They started pulling ingredients out; eggs, chicken, ketchup, some leftover rice, just something simple. Omurice, following their mama's recipe.
"Mama's classic," Ran cheered fondly, cracking eggs into a bowl.
"Don't mess it up like last time," Rindou warned, dicing the onions.
"Excuse you, I improved it. You just don't have taste."
"You mean, that omurice you made previously didn't taste shit. Literally, PLAIN."
"It's healthy version!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Anyway, Mama said she's coming over for lunch tomorrow."
