Three years ago...
The gang meeting was in full swing, the room filled with loud voices and the occasional thud of a fist on the table. Izana and Shion leaned back in their chairs, half-listening to the disposable subordinates, when their phones buzzed at the same time.
Shion pulled his out first, squinting at the screen. "Yo, it's Y/n. She just sent, uh... 'school rooftop.' That's it."
Izana glanced at his own phone, reading the same message. His brow twitched, but he snorted, shoving the phone back into his pocket. "Tch. Bet she's just tryna mess with us. Always gotta be the center of attention."
Shion tilted his head, frowning. "She don't usually pull this kinda crap, though."
Izana waved him off. "Relax. She's probably just bored or some dumb shit."
"You sure?" Shion leaned closer, lowering his voice. "Feels off, man. Like, why not just call or somethin'?"
Izana clicked his tongue, looking away, but his leg bounced under the table. "We'll finish this up and check it out. If she's just wastin' my time, I'm gonna beat her ass."
Even as he said it, that gnawing feeling in his gut wouldn't go away. Something about the message just didn't sit right.
Izana couldn't shake the feeling. No matter how much he tried to focus on the meeting, Y/n's message kept creeping back into his thoughts. Finally, he slammed his hand on the table, cutting through the noise in the room.
"Meeting's over," he said, his tone sharp and final.
The underlings exchanged confused looks but didn't dare question him. Izana pushed back his chair, standing up with a huff. Shion was quick to follow, trailing after him as they stepped out of the building.
