A few days later,
At school...

You were finally released from the hospital, and now you stood outside your classroom, your hand hovering over the doorknob. Izana leaned against the wall beside you. His eyes flicked toward you and without a word, he reached out and rubbed your back. "Just go in," he encouraged. "You'll be fine."

You hesitated, fingers curling around the knob. "It just feels... weird. Being gone for so long. They must have known what happened to me. I heard it made to national news and all..."

That's why I have been avoiding the television, you thought.

Shion didn't wait for you to spiral any further. He stepped forward and slung his arm around your shoulders, dragging you into his side with a grin that could only belong to him. "To hell with that. That just means you are famous," he scoffed. "The girls in there been talkin' about you nonstop. I swear, they're gonna jump you the second you walk in. Like, full-on tackle. You ain't ready."

You blinked up at him. Izana stifled a laugh. "Told you." Shion gave your shoulder a squeeze. "Come on, Y/n. Let's get this over with."

You sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. With Shion still draped over you and Izana watching, you finally turned the knob and pushed the door open-

POP!

The loud crack of poppers going off made you flinch, instinctively stepping back a half-step. Colorful streamers burst into the air, raining down like confetti. You blinked in confusion, and before you could process anything, your classmates suddenly swarmed around you.

"Welcome back!!" they shouted in unison, voices bright with excitement. Your eyes widened as everything gradually began to register.

You looked around again, this time really taking in the scene. Party decorations hung from the walls and windows; streamers, balloons, glittering tape in (f/colors). A huge handmade banner stretched across the chalkboard in uneven letters that read,

"WELCOME BACK!!"

Your gaze dropped. There were tables lined with trays of pastries, sandwiches, chips, drinks, and someone even brought fruit tarts. You stood frozen, completely speechless.

Shion whistled low next to you. "Damn. They went all out."

Izana leaned in, whispering near your ear, "Told you they missed you."

You were still standing at the doorway, overwhelmed, your mouth opening and closing as you tried to find words.

"W-What is... all this? Why..?" you stammered. Vice Prez stepped forward with a big grin, hands on her hips. "Obviously to welcome you back! You vanished for more than a week without a word!"

The girls quickly surrounded you, linking arms and crowding in close.

"We missed you so much, seriously!"
