Later,
Evening,
Musashi Shrine...Second Person's POV
Manjiro stood beside his little sister, Emma. He glanced at her, noticing the way her hands fidgeted slightly at her sides. He leaned in closer, his voice soft but firm as he asked, "You nervous about tomorrow?"
Emma's eyes flickered up to meet his, and she hesitated for a moment before nodding. But there was more in her expression-an excitement she couldn't quite hide. It was clear that the thought of visiting Izana had her more thrilled than nervous.
"Kinda.. I wonder how he's living on his own.."
Manjiro caught this, and a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "It's gonna be tons of fun for sure. Let's trash his place!" he reassured her while giggling, his voice carrying a warmth that only a protective older brother could muster. He ruffled her hair lightly, and the tension in her shoulders eased.
But as the moment settled, Manjiro's gaze shifted past his sister, drawn to the figure walking toward them from down the street. There was something familiar in the way this person moved, and as they come closer, recognition sparked in his eyes. Emma noticed it too, her own expression brightening as she followed her brother's line of sight.
There, approaching with a steady stride, was you.
Manjiro's face lighted up in a way that only those who knew him well could notice-a subtle lift of his brows, a softening of his usually guarded expression. Emma's eyes widened with delight, and she unconsciously latched to her brother, as if sharing a secret excitement.
"(Y/n)-san!!"
As you neared the shrine, your attention was caught by a flash of movement. Before you could fully register what was happening, two figures came barreling toward you. In a blur of motion, you were tackled to the ground, your breath escaping in a surprised gasp.
You blinked, finding yourself on the ground, sandwiched between Emma and Manjiro, their faces beaming with joy. They clung to you tightly, their excitement contagious. Emma's bright eyes were filled with unrestrained happiness, while Manjiro's grin was as wide as you had ever seen it.
"We missed you so much!!" Emma whined.
"Do you bring any sweets?! Taiyaki, dorayaki-- anything?" Obviously, the only thing in Manjiro's mind was good.
For a split second, you were in shock, the suddenness of the tackle leaving you breathless. But as the realization sunk in, a wide grin spread across your face. The joy radiating from the Sano siblings was infectious, and you found yourself returning their embrace just as fiercely.
"I missed you two a lot too..and of course I got food to feed you all hungry kids!" You ruffled the siblings' fluffy hair lovingly.
Yasuhiro watched from a short distance, a smile tugging at his lips as he took in the scene. 'Good thing I thought ahead of this possibility and offered to carry all the bags with dorayaki. The food is unharmed.' he heaved out a sigh of relief.
