On the car ride to the train platform, Travis had a hand on Taylor's thigh while she held his hand with a bone-crushing grip, trying to stay calm for Archie who sat in between Taylor and Travis.
"I love you", Travis said, looking over at Taylor at an intersection. "I love you more", she responded, taking his hand to her red lips, kissing his softly.
"Impossible", challenged Travis.
"Mama!", Travis exclaimed, seeing his wheelchair-bound mother waiting for him at the platform. "Oh Travis! My boy", his mother, Donna, responded, Travis couching down to hug her.
"It's good to see you", said Travis, kissing the top of Donna's head.
"Mother, you remember my beautiful wife, Taylor. And your grandson, Archie", said Travis.
Travis's mother had memory issues , so she needed a reminder.
"Taylor, it's wonderful to see you", exclaimed Donna. Her travel nurse pulled her shall around her, feeling the cool wind blow by.
Taylor held Archie on her hip, not wanting him to get lost in the bunches of children and families passing by.
"How do you do", Taylor greeted, letting go of Travis's hand and shaking his mother's.
"Well isn't he just a cutie. And I see you're working on another one there", said Donna, squeezing Archie's foot. Archie hid his face in his mother's neck, shy.
"It's ok Archie, it's your grandma", comforted Taylor, rubbing the boy's back.
"Yes. She'll be here in February", said Travis. Travis, seeing Taylor was uncomfortable, took the boy from her, rubbing her back softly and kissed her cheek. Taylor leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Can't wait to meet my new grandchild. But it's a shame we had to meet on these circumstances", confessed Donna.
"Yeah. I didn't really see this coming until two weeks ago", admitted Travis.
Many families and friends gathered on the platform, waiting for the dreaded blow of the train's whistle of the train pulling into the station.
"I love you", Taylor confessed, hugging him. "I love you baby. Promise me", he said, beginning to choke up seeing Taylor's tears. "Promise me that if something happens to me, you won't stop living and will keep living for our kids", said Travis, pressing their foreheads together.
Travis set Archie down on his Grandmother's lap.
"Oh Travis", she sobbed, holding his face while he held her frame. "Promise me baby", he rasped, it paining him to even imagine those grim circumstances.
"I promise", she sobbed, clutching him closely.
"If you aren't careful and you make it home injured I'll kill you", she rasped out in between sobs.
"I promise I'll be careful. You mean everything to me. I love you so much", he responded.
He reached down, planting his lips to hers softly. She kissed back, finding solace in his gentle, familiar lips.
Travis
Travis bent down, wrapping both hands on Taylor's baby bump.
"I love you so much sweet baby. Be easy on your mommy for me", said Travis, kissing it multiple times.
"I am so in love with you if you haven't noticed", Travis said, standing back up and rubbing her sides, looking into her crystal blue eyes.
"I have never loved someone like the way I love you", confessed Taylor, placing her hands on top of his on her bump.
