About two months went by and Taylor's belly grew and grew. It was uncomfortable to do basic tasks like sitting up and it was near impossible reaching down and picking Archie up.
Elizabeth and Travis's letters were the only thing keeping her going. She was going through a stage of depression due to added stress and missing Travis.
Taylor groaned, feeling the baby do flips inside her. "Can you just stop for a minute?", Taylor rhetorically asked her large stomach. She sighed, rubbing it softly.
"Mommy!", exclaimed Archie, running into the room with his little trousers dragging behind him, only looped around one leg.
"Archie, don't take your trousers off. We've discussed this before", scolded Taylor, wishing Travis was there so she didn't have to help him re-clothe himself.
She groaned, sitting up from the couch, slowly, standing to her swollen feet. With no Travis there to rub her feet, they only got worse than when Travis left. She felt a sharp pain radiate through her pelvis but dismissed it because this had been happening all day.
"Come here", she said, feeling sheer pain in her back as she leaned down and picked the boy up.
"No!", wined Archie, flailing his little arms and legs around.
"Archie, no kicking me. That hurts", she said sternly, fed up with his recent bad behavior spike.
She got that Travis was gone and he missed his father, but that was no excuse to be a pain when she was almost full term now.
Archie's bottom lip quivered, hearing his mom yell at him. Taylor sighed, sitting down on the sofa and pulling Archie to sit on her bump, his head laying on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry for yelling. But you need to be careful because Mommy has a baby in her belly, remember?", said Taylor gently, rubbing the boy's back.
Archie nodded, sniffing. "I sowwy", he said, pulling his head off her neck and facing her.
"I forgive you Archie. I love you so much", Taylor said, kissing his cheek.
"Wuv", Archie repeated, pecking his mother's cheek.
"Archie, you are too cute", Taylor giggled, snuggling the boy.
After putting Archie's trousers back on, she placed him by his toys so he remained occupied.
Meanwhile, Taylor waddled painfully to the kitchen, hating that she had to make everything from scratch. Nausea had returned in her symptoms, causing her to lose more sleep than she already lost with Archie taking forever to fall asleep, each time requesting Travis.
She smelled the coffee beans that sat on the counter, immediately feeling nausea return.
"No", she mumbled. Taylor tried to make it to the bathroom in time but she couldn't due to her large stomach making her slower.
Taylor vomited all over herself and the floor. While she still felt sick to her stomach, the emotion she felt the most was embarrassment.
She felt tears fall from her tired eyes, falling onto the floor.
"I can't do anything right", she sobbed. All she wanted at that moment was Travis. He would find a way to make her feel better somehow. He always did. For instance, when Taylor was pregnant with Archie and the day her mother passed away came back around, she felt alone and sad all day but Travis found a way to intercede by taking the day off work to drive her to her mother's grave.
Since the only person present was an occupied almost 2-year-old, Taylor sobbed, walking to the bathroom to clean herself up.
Taylor looked in the mirror and the reflection startled her. What she saw was a very pregnant woman with bigger breasts, bags under her eyes, greasy, dirty hair, and vomit covering the bottom of her dress. She looked into her own usually sparkly, cheerful blue eyes and instead found lifeless, almost grey eyes.
