Stella's POV:

As soon as I read the text, "It's over.", I went numb.

“Stella, I trusted you the most, and I warned you so many times not to play pranks on me. You even agreed to that. You used to play pranks about small things, and that annoyed me a lot, but I tolerated it because you're my best friend. But regarding this John’s prank, I’m not okay. I’ve completely lost trust in you.
Unna nambunen ana nee enna ipdi emathita, ennaku rombo kevalama feel aagudhu.
(I trusted you, but you cheated me like this. I feel really horrible.)
Am I that dumb? How can you lie about the marriage and the groom, Stella? I feel so stupid for trusting you blindly. I don't think our friendship will work out. Let's end it.”

This was the first paragraph sent by Jeni.
Then came the next text:

“It's over.”

I quickly dialed her number, but she didn’t pick up. I kept calling her again and again, I gave her around 16 missed calls.

"Enna dhan d panra? Phone edukuriya illa naan un veetuku kelambi varata? We need to talk."
(What are you doing? If you’re not going to answer, should I just come to your house?)

I sent her a voice note. Her last seen was 12:40 p.m. She didn’t come online after sending me the text.

I felt terrible reading her message.

Rombo over huh pannitomo, kastama iruku Ava anupuna text huh padicha. I crossed my limits, nenaikiren.
(Maybe I really went too far, it hurts reading what she sent. I think I crossed the line.)

“I'm sorry, Jeni. Naan venumna pannala, chumma prank panlamnu dha pannen, d. I'm sorry d.
(I didn’t do it intentionally, I just thought it would be a fun prank.)
Unna hurt pannadhuku, ivlo hurt avanu nenaikala, d. Sorry, d. It's over lam solladha.
(I didn’t think it would hurt you so much. Please don’t say it’s over.)
Nee illama epdi d naan irupen. Nee ennoda uyir thozhi, d.
(How will I live without you? You're my soul sister.)
Sorry d,” I sent her a voice note.

I anxiously waited for her reply. Her last seen remained the same. She never came online.

Just then, I heard a sound near the steps.

The guy who had come with Mathew was taking some furniture upstairs.

“Pavam, rombo tired huh irukumla avangaluku. Sapadu poi kuduthutu varlama?”
(Poor thing, they must be so tired. Should I take them, some food?)

“Mathew munnadi poga ennaku shy huh iruke.”
(I'm feeling shy to go in front of Mathew.)

Author: Ipo enna unna ponnu parka vandha paiyan munnadiya poi nika solrom? Romba dhan vekka paduriye....(Now what? You're pretending as if a groom has come to see you and becoming shy. Really?)

I looked at myself in the mirror.

“Yuck, enna t shirt and pajamas la kevalama theriyuren. Mathew enna enna nenachu iruparu? First impression he kevalama poiduchu.”
(Yuck, I look so horrible in this t-shirt and pajamas. What must Mathew be thinking? My first impression is ruined.)

I changed into an anarkali dress and headed upstairs after applying some makeup.

When I stood there with the plates in my hand, he just glanced at me. Before he could say something, his cousin started talking to me. Even though I was responding to his cousin, my full attention was on Mathew.

I was completely lost in his eyes. I was admiring everything he did, the way he ate food, the way he looked at me with eyes filled with love, it gave me butterflies.
