Mathew's POV:

I entered the house only to hear my mother talking with someone.

I heard her voice. Ava dhan andha Stella.
It was her... Stella.

"Marubadiyum vandhuta? Ivakuku self respect iruka illaya? Avlo thiteeyum thirumbi vandhuta Inga? Joe dhan Inga illaye aprm edhuku vandhu iruka? Oru velai namma dhan thappa nenachitu irukomo avala?"
("She came again? Doesn't she have any self-respect? After being scolded so badly, she still came back here? Joe isn't even here, then why has she come? Maybe I was the one at fault and she's not to blame?", I thought.)

I heard how she praised me in front of my mother and assured her that I’d find a good wife, despite me scolding her with venomous words.

Then, she told my mother how she was body-shamed by others and how it affected her. I felt sorry for her. But still, she should have maintained her weight.
If she had done that, who would’ve had the chance to insult her like this?

But, I felt guilty for hurting her with my words.
Nejama, thappu panniten.
(Truly, I made a mistake.)

I'll apologize to her for saying such words.

When she came and enquired about Catherine, I apologized to her. But, she didn’t even utter a word and left.

Is she angry at me?

Author: Illa un mela romba love oda iruka, ivlo kevalama pesunadhuku apram yaaru unnoda apology huh ethupanga, Mr. Boaster.
(Nope, she’s deeply in love with you (sarcasm). But after all the horrible things you said, who would accept your apology, Mr. Boaster?)

Mathew: Seri, ipo enna pannanum?
(Fine, what should I do now?)

Author: Give her some gift, apology letter oda.
(Give her a gift, along with an apology letter.)

Mathew: Adhellam mudiyadhu.
I can't do all that.
(No way.)

Author: Apo po. Guilt odaye suthitu iru. Ennaku enna.
(Then go. Keep wandering around in guilt. I don't care.)

Mathew: Idhu konjam overa illa? Gift lam tharadhu?
(Isn't this a bit too much? Giving gifts and all?)

Author: Nee thituna thittu ku chandirana eduthutu vandhu kudutahlum Ava unna mannika maata, avlo kevalama thiti iruka.
(Even if you brought the moon to make up for how you insulted her, she won’t forgive you.)

Mathew: Ok, Ok. I admit my mistake. Seri, panren.
(Okay, okay. I admit I was wrong. Fine, I’ll do it.)

I came out of my thoughts when I saw Joe climbing the stairs.

"Nee enna da adhukulla office lendhu vandhuta?"
("You came back from the office already?")

"Ada, po da. Iniku office half a day vaam edho prechananu solli veetuku thorathi veetututanga. Therinju irundha poi iruka maten."
("Get lost, man. Today was only half a day at office. They sent us home saying there's some issue. If I had known, I wouldn't have even gone.")

He went inside the house.

I quickly grabbed my car keys and went to buy a gift for her.

I was looking for good gifts, and then my eyes fell on this:
