Stella's POV:

After hearing "Saniyan"(Cursed) and "Mentally unstable" from him, my past replayed in front of my eyes.

Those were the same words used by Juno and Daisy, the ones that traumatized me deeply.

He left me there, crying in the living room.

I was going breathless, and yeah, I knew it, I was going to have a panic attack.

I quickly crawled to my room and searched for the anti-anxiety pills. I swallowed one and lay down on the bed.

I kept thinking about my miserable fate.

"Kadhal lam chumma, eye treat. Unmaiyana kadhaluku mariyadhaiye illa, la? Inime indha life ennaku vendam. Nalaiku mothama mudichida poren."
(Love is just eye candy. True love has no respect, right? I don’t want this life anymore. I’ll end everything tomorrow.)

Mathew's POV:

I was in deep sleep when my phone started ringing.

I picked up the call.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Mathew. I'm the doctor speaking."

"Ah yes, doctor. Tell me."

"Mathew, it's been a week since your diabetes diagnosis. Today you need to come in for a check-up. Hope you remember."

"Yes yes, doctor. I'll come. Please send me the address and time."

"Okay," he said, and I hung up.

I went to the washroom, got refreshed, and put on good clothes. The doctor had messaged me the clinic address and appointment time, 2 PM. It was 12 PM now.

I thought I'd have lunch and then head out.

When I stepped out of my room, I saw her sitting on the couch. She looked dull.

I ignored her. I didn’t even remember when she came home last night, I was too high on marijuana.

I walked into the kitchen to get water when she called me.

"Mathew?"

I rolled my eyes and turned to look at her.

"I want to talk to you," she said.

I sat down on the single-seater sofa in front of her.

"I don’t have all day. Say it fast," I said sternly. That’s when I noticed the bandage on her forehead. I wanted to ask what happened but I chose not to.

"Mathew, let’s get divorced," she said. My expression changed.

"This won’t work between us. Let’s part ways. At least you’ll be happy after we get separated."

I started laughing. Then I stared directly into her eyes.

"What do you think? I’ll give you a divorce just like that? Never."

"What? But why? You don’t even like me. Then what’s stopping you?"

I chuckled.

"Eppo dhan puriyudhu. Enna diabetic patient aakita and property kuda un kaiya vitu poiduchu adhan ipo ivan kuda vazhndhu enna seiya porom, adhanala divorce vangidalamnu nenaikira. Crt? Adhu matum mudiyadhu, d. Enna epdi diabetic aakuniyo, adhu madhiri I'll ame your life, a living hell. Nee en kooda vazhura oru oru nimishamum naragama iruku. Nee ennaku panna dhroagathuku kadavule unna mannika mataru.", I said.

(Now you understand. I became a diabetic, and my property’s no longer yours, so now you want to divorce me? Right? That won’t happen. Just like I got diabetes, I’ll make every moment of your life hell. God himself won’t forgive you for betraying me.)
