Three months later,

"Hey, Stella? Where the heck are you?", Mathew was yelling standing in the middle of the living room.

"Ennachu? Edhuku kathureenga?", I came out of my room.

He looked at me with rage filled eyes.

"Vaanga, madam. Enna paneetu irundheega? Ofcourse, saptutu irundhu irupa, vera enna?", he said.

"Illa, I was applying for jobs.", I said.

Epo paaru sapadu pathiye pesitu iruparu, idiot.

"Adhuvum veetla ukandhute Pannu. Idiot, ipdi veetla ukandhu ukandhu dhan innum gundu ayite pora. Go, get down the lanes and search for jobs. I'm not sure whether you'll find a job but definitely you'll lose weight."

"Why are you screaming? Ipo enna Achu?", I asked.

"You want to know what happened? Everything happened only because of you. My life turned upside down when I married you. My friends are laughing at me for marrying you.", he said.

I scrunched my face in disgust.

"What? Why are your friends laughing at you?"

"For marrying a fat, ugly woman which is none other than Stella Joshua.", he said as he took a seat on the couch.

"Mathew, stop hurting me with your words. What if they make fun of you? You should be strong about our relationship, why are you reacting to their silly comments?", I asked.

"Strong about our relationship? I don't give a damn about this relationship. You are just a paying guest in this house for me. You are just a fat woman and I'm disappointed because I cannot flaunt my wife in front of my friends. All my friends have beautiful wives and look at me, I got you. Most probably this is the punishment for committed a huge sin in my past life.", he replied running his fingers through his hair.

I started shedding tears.

"You also don't say the same words uttered by everyone. I said I'll lose weight, give me some time.", I said controlling my tears.

"Kizhicha, 3 months laye oru managatti difference um illa innum 3 months unnaku kuduthu last la naan dhan emandhu nikanum. Mudiyadhu, po d.", he said.

"But, I like you so much. Ennaku ungala rombo pudikum. Don't do this to me.", I said, keeping my hand on his chest.

He yanked my hand and started laughing.

"Have you ever seen your face in the mirror, you ugly fat woman."

I stood there silently without even uttering a word.

"Unnakellam model madhiri irukura Naan husband huh venuma? See, you are just a burden to me. Unna madhiri Gunda irukura aalungala parthale ennaku pudikadhu."

"Then, why the heck did you say yes to this marriage?"

"I was left with no other option. Don't ever think that I'll accept you as my wife. Got, it?"

I said nothing and left from there. I didn't wanna look vulnerable in front of him.

"Porandhadhu lendhe ellarum enna ugly, fat nu kindal panni irukanga. No one stood by my side. I had high hopes from my husband. Ipo avarum adhe solraru. Maybe, it's true that I'm an ugly duck."

My emotions were going out of control. I sensed that I was getting an asthma attack. I quickly searched for my inhaler and used it.

I was lost in my thoughts thinking about my miserable life. I was crying non stop.

"I should have listened to Catherine, akka. Thappu paniten. See, how I'm suffering right now? It's true that a person becomes blind when he's in love. That's my case."
