Stella POV:
I was heartbroken after hearing him call me a bitch and a slut.
He left me in tears without even giving me a glance.
I walked away from the place and sat on a bench near the parking lot.
"Am I that cheap? Why did he even think I trapped him? He was the one who agreed to marry me, and Regina Ma was the first person to send me the proposal. Why is he behaving like a maniac?"
I couldn’t tolerate the pain he gave me. Every word from him felt like a bee sting.
Even though I had told him I just wanted to stay happy for a few hours with my friends, he ruined my day and completely killed my mood.
After thinking for a long time, I made up my mind about something.
"Hey, Inga en d ukandhutu iruka?"
(Hey, why are you sitting here, like this?)I looked up. It was Jeni.
"Nee poi evlo neram aagudhu, adhan unna theditu vandhen. Hey... Ennachu d azhugura?"
(You’ve been gone for so long, so I came looking for you. Hey... what happened? Why are you crying?)I badly needed a shoulder to cry on. I hugged Jeni and poured my heart out.
"He called me a slut, d.", I said, weeping.
"Enna d solra? Avaru apdilam solla matare."
(What are you saying? He would never say something like that.)I chuckled bitterly.
"Unna yaaru d andha prank pathi ellam avaru kita solla sonna?"
(Who asked you to tell him about the prank, huh?)Her face changed.
"Hey, illa d. Avaruku therinja happy agi, unna innum nalla parthupaarunu dhaan apdi sonnen d. Unna avaru thituvaarunu nenaikala."
(Hey, no, I told him so he would be happy and appreciate you even more. I didn’t think he’d scold you for it.)"Ennoda thappu dhaan, Jeni. Nee ennoda best friend ana unnaku thevai illadha tension nu solli, en vedanaiya ennakullaye vechi kiten. Avara pathi un kita solli irundhadhuna, nee avaru kita idha pathi solli iruka maata, d."
(It’s my fault, Jeni. You’re my best friend, but I bottled up all my pain just to avoid giving you unnecessary stress. If I had told you about him earlier, you wouldn’t have told him about the prank.)"Nee edha maraicha? So, you're holding secrets from me? Tell me, what is it?" she asked.
(What you hid from me?)"Avaru enna nalla pathi kiraru, pasama irukarunu sonnadhellam poi d."
(All that about caring for me and being affectionate was a lie.)I narrated the whole story to her,
The condition he put before our wedding, the way he body-shamed me, and how harshly he treated me.Jeni had tears in her eyes after hearing my story.
"Epdi d, ivlo thaiyum ulla vechikitu sirichu pesitu irundha?"
(How did you smile and speak so calmly while hiding this much pain inside you?)I looked down, trying to control my tears.
"Stella, podhum d. Indha madhiri oru aalu unnaku vendam. Nee evlo nallava, evlo vazhkaila anubavichiruka-nu, un BFF-aana ennaku nallave theriyum d. I agree, you looked great with him, but just because Mathew is handsome doesn’t mean he knows how to treat someone like a human being."
(Stella, enough. You deserve better. You're a nice girl and has went through so much, I'm your BFF, I know everything about you.)"Kudi seekiram adhu nadaka pogudhu. He asked me for a divorce. Ana naan Regina Ma-ku panna promise pathi nenachu tharamudiyadhu-nu yosichen. Apram, enaku avaru ennala dhaan marijuana ku addict aanaru-nu therinjadhu, aniku I decided to divorce him."
(That's gonna happen soon. He asked me for a divorce, but I couldn't agree right away because of the promise I made to Regina Ma. But the day I found out he got addicted to marijuana because of me, I decided to end it.)
