Mathew's POV:
She opened the door and I was shocked to see her condition.
She didn't make eye contact with me.
"Please, don't create a scene by calling my parents," she said, and before she could close the door, I held it.
"What were the pills you took?" She was shocked and looked at me.
"Tell me?" I asked.
"How do you know?" she asked.
"I know. Tell me."
"Nothing, those are just sleeping pills which I usually take since I'm insomniac," she said.
"How many pills did you take?" I asked.
"One. A sane person will have only one pill at a time," she said.
Her eyes were droopy.
"I don't trust you," I said.
"You never trusted me ever since our first meeting. I don't want to argue. Please, leave me alone. I don't want to hear your venomous words again. I need sleep," she said.
She was about to close the door, but I stopped her.
"Keep the door open. Don't close it," I said.
She didn't react and went inside the room without locking the door.
"Ivala nambalama? Iva insomniac nu ennaku epdi theriyama pochu? Poi solrala?"
(Can I believe her? How did I not know she's an insomniac? Is she lying?)
After some time, I entered her room only to find her sleeping peacefully.
"Thoongura, seri namma velaiya papom."
(She's sleeping, fine. Let's focus on our work.)
Before I could leave, something caught my attention.
I went near that thing and picked it up in my hands.
"Idhu, iva ennaku kudutha showpiece, la?"
(This is the showpiece she gifted me, right?)
"Namma dha thooki potutome idha, iva kita epdi vandhuchu?"
(I'm the one who threw this away, then how did it end up with her again?)
She might have felt bad thinking I threw her gift away. I shouldn't have done that.
Suddenly, I got scared due to a sudden sound.
It was her phone. Someone was calling her.
I quickly searched for her phone so as not to disturb her sleep. I grabbed her phone from the bag only to find some "Sam Anna" calling her.
Sam? Yaaru Avan?
(Sam? Who is he?)
I picked up the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Stella illaya?"
(Hello, isn't Stella there?)
"She's sleeping."
"Oh, ok. May I know who is this?" he asked.
"Her hu..."
Illa, naan dha avaluku yarum illaya? Why should I accept her as my wife?
(No, I'm nobody to her, right?)
"Mathew," I said.
"Oh, mappillai ya?" he said. I rolled my eyes hearing that mappillai word.
(Oh, the groom?)
"Mm..." I hummed.
"Mappillai, sorry rombo. Ungala meet pannave mudiyala. Iniku varuvinganu nenachen but Stella kutty sonna neenga work la busy huh irukeenganu."
(Stella's husband? I'm really sorry. I couldn't even meet you. I thought you'd come today but little Stella said you were busy at work.)
