Chapter 378: Destined for Abnormality

A week after the Black Star arc

Task Force Base

3rd person POV

Every member of the CSD returned to base as they all took a rest after their grueling missions. 

Ayanokouji's team were unharmed aside from Shiro who obviously tanked two explosions but was able to walk away just fine after. 

As for Light's team on the other hand. 

Touma, Misaka, Kazuto, Asuna, and Shino all received some bad injuries in their fights and all of them were losses. 

Light and Misaki were obviously fine given that they did stay out of the action for obvious reasons. 

Kei (Shinomiya): What the hell happened to you guys? 

Asuna: It's a long story. 

Kei: Ryuzaki-san gave me a short errand that lasted for a week and then I came back here and all of you look like shit. 

Misaka: Hey, give us a break! Things just didn't go in our way. That's all.

Kei: Man, you guys really had it rough. At least Kiyotaka-san and the rest are okay. 

Shirogane: I mean we did have the easy opponents after all. 

Touma: Meanwhile, the rest of us went through some really psychotic figures. 

Misaki: Especially that Daigo Haru. His entire group isn't one to mess with.

Kei: Daigo huh? Honestly, I didn't even expect him to have such a powerful group.

Ayanokouji: I anticipated something like this. After all, Haru is capable of bringing in competent people to his side and most of them based on what you guys reported...are unnaturally powerful.

Shino: Unnatural is right. 

Kazuto: Those Shingami guys are on a completely different level. It's like fighting the 6th generation. 

Ayanokouji: What makes you say that?

Kazuto: I don't know. I guess that's how I would picture you guys when you fight the 6th generation.

Kaguya: I suppose so, but I've never fought a Shinigami member myself yet, so I'm not sure.

Light: Believe him. I saw one of them fight before including Daigo himself and...well I can safely say that they're that powerful especially Daigo. I think he's gotten stronger since the last time we saw him. You better be careful Kiyotaka.

Ayanokouji doesn't say a word as he already knew that Haru would get even stronger.

Ayanokouji: (Haru is just getting stronger day by day like me. Though I can't quantify how strong given his level of improvement is as high as mine. Can't say for certain if we're both on the same level now or if he's now above me. Only time will tell if I meet him again.)

L: So, how is everyone today?

Shirogane: Ryuzaki-san!

The detective has arrived as he checks on his fellow CSD members.

Kei: Ohh yeah, where the hell have you been this entire time? I saw Sora-san and Shiro-chan manning the computers and you were nowhere to be found.

L: I was actually having a secret meeting with the ADA's president.

Ayanokouji: Secret meeting?

L: That's right. Dazai was the one who gave me that idea to do so especially in the case when you managed to obtain one of the Calamity weapons in which you did.
