Chapter 317: An Omen

Iino Residence

3rd person POV

Miko: Huh?! Dad, what are you doing here?! 

Mr. Iino: It's been a while, hasn't it? 

Miko: Yeah, but I don't understand...why are you suddenly here? Aren't you supposed to be working? 

Mr. Iino: I know you missed me Miko. Though I only came home so that I can pick up something to wear. 

Miko: I see. What's the occasion? 

Mr. Iino: I've been suddenly invited by a friend of mine in this secret meeting. I don't know what the purpose is yet, but my friend told me it has something to do with the ongoing incidents that's been happening. You've seen the news, right? 

Miko: I have. A laboratory in Sendai was raided by some unknown criminals, right? 

Mr. Iino: Exactly. I don't know why I was invited since I'm also told by my friend that this is merely a rich people only meeting, but my friend added that they needed a judge from the Supreme Court to give their opinions on certain topics. 

Miko: Is that so? 

Mr. Iino: Yeah...sorry that I'm a little too busy but you are in college now Miko. You can take care of yourself. 

Miko: That's true, I guess.

Mr Iino: Hey.

Miko: Hmm?

Mr. Iino: If it's okay, since the meeting takes place in Kyoto a week from now. We can head to Kyoto days before and just hang out. 

Miko: Really!? I...

Mr. Iino: What is it? 

Miko: It's just that...it's rare that you'd want to hang out with me. After all, you were aware that I'm always alone at home while you guys are doing your jobs.

Mr. Iino: I know. That's why I feel like this is the perfect time to make it up to you though I don't think your mother can do the same.

Miko: I know but she is just doing her job so I can't blame her for that.

Mr. Iino: At least you have me around. 

Miko: Yeah...you're right.

Chika: You want me to join you!?

Daichi: That's right.

Fujiwara Daichi, a politician who came from a line of other politicians in the past currently discussing a certain meeting to his daughter. 

Chika: But why do I need to do that? 

Daichi: I want you to learn about a few things especially when it comes to secret meetings among the rich and powerful. Call it, training so that you can prepare yourself if you ever follow in my footsteps. 

Chika: But I'm probably just going to get bored and what's this meeting about?

Daichi: I haven't been given too many details other than being situation concerning the government and their benefactors. I was invited to their meeting to discuss on whatever they're discussing.
