Years Ago
At an undisclosed location
3rd person POV
Inside of a seemingly normal office.
Atsuomi was meeting with a certain doctor along with one of the instructors, Suzakake.
Mikio: Well, how is my daugther's current progress?
Atsuomi: Progress huh? Is that why you visited me?
Mikio: Why wouldn't I? While it should be top secret for the investors. To even have a sliver of information regarding a student's progress in the White Room should be kept secret. Unless you're talking to the people you trust such as myself.
Atsuomi: Right. I did give only you and Amasawa-san information regarding the progress of the students.
Mikio: Amasawa? Hah! Him too huh? I'm surprised he would be one of the people wanting to check progress. I thought he doesn't give a shit...from what I've heard at least.
Atsuomi: Isn't it normal for parents to be worried about their children?
Mikio: That's rich coming from you, mister. I don't see a shred of care or worry within those eyes.
The doctor gave a smug look towards Atsuomi as he then turns to Suzakake.
Mikio: Tell me the current progress of my daughter's training. You are one of the instructors involved after all.
Suzakake: Well...
Atsuomi: Before you answer that, I'd like to ask you a question first.
Mikio: Sure.
Atsuomi: What's with this?
He then raises papers that are in his hand.
Atsuomi: What's with this...new curriculum idea?
Mikio: Hehe! Ohh that? Well, let's just say that this is something that I want you to consider, as part of your experiment.
Atsuomi: Are you trying to change the experiment?
Mikio: Of course not. However, while there are clear flaws to it given that majority of the children other than a special few will be able to graduate from their respective generations. I propose that for the next generation. This should be the curriculum for the chosen children in case if there are...potential children that isn't or rather shouldn't be worth eliminating.
Suzakake: What are you trying to pull here, doctor?
Mikio: I'm not a fool. Even if I am confident in my daughter surviving the experiment. I knew that survival isn't just the problem. It's the children that are involved.
Atsuomi: Hmm?
Mikio: You know as well as I do that within any group. There will always be an outlier among the weak. That outlier will be a problem for my daughter.
Atsuomi: Get to the point, Dr. Hamasaki.
Mikio: I know as well as you do that this entire experiment doesn't always guarantee that more than one can graduate. I know that my daughter, even with her progress wouldn't make it. In fact...

Mikio: She was removed from the experiment after failing a test...didn't she?
Suzakake: Huh!?
Atsuomi gave a sudden glare from the doctor's words.
Suzakake: Ummm...yes she did. I assume that she managed to return home safely??
