By the next day, my mind is still running through all the possibilities of dates Lane might take me on. I've only been on a couple and always felt like they were so...cliche?
When people think about dates, the first thoughts swing around the same waves. Going out for dinner in a fancy restaurant, watch a movie together, have a picnic at the park.
Don't get me wrong, they're all great ideas and the truth is what you're doing shouldn't matter as long as you're with that person. But I want something different, original.
In all honesty I'd even prefer if we did something at home, seeing that I'm not the most going out person. Which is kinda ironic since I'm literally on my way to a club. It was Rina's idea, she thought it do us good to have a night out.
The guys didn't take long to agree, after all it's been quite a few time since they've hit a party which is uncommon for people our age. In traditional ways, I should be in college now and having the time of my life every weekend.
Not that if I was taking a degree I'd be doing that. Perhaps once or twice if I had Rina with me, but other than that I'd be the type of girl to stay home and read a book instead. Who knows, maybe I'd have a roommate like that as well and we'd spend the nights discussing about our book boyfriends.
When I was younger I had an online friend to do that, we'd fangirl over books and movies all the time. She'd understand me like no one, but unfortunately people grow and some things are left behind. I wish her all the best though.
"Dev says they've already arrived" Rina informs, while writing an answer back.
I smirk, "You two text each other now?"
"He definitely tries, but I usually don't answer, unless I want something," the blonde shrugs and my hope for the two drops a little, "Texting is boring, might be even worse than calling, takes so much energy and patience."
"You should apply for Guiness' most unapproachable person ever, you know" I snort as she shrugs unbothered.
In some way it makes sense Dev, of all people, would be the one interested in her. Not only is she gorgeous but Rina is also the definition of 'will not even spare you a mere glance' which is the totally opposite of him.
When Devon sets his mind on something he truly believes he can get it. Not to mention he usually falls for the ones he has none or close to zero chances of having a chance.
"Says you, who uses work as an excuse not to date and denied to be into the guy you supposedly can't stand for years," she gives me a look and I feel the burn physically.
"You did not hold back on that one," I chuckle and mouths a 'sorry' even though I know she's anything but not.
I glance at the Uber's window and see we've finally arrived. There's a line of people going from the entry of the club all the way to end of the street.
These are the times where it's handy to have a brother who knows everyone around. Now we don't have to wait for hours just to get inside.
"Cmon, let's have fun!" the blonde grabs my hand and guides me inside, keeping us in a close distance so we don't get lost, "Need a drink, you?"
