I've always been a watcher.
Rather than a talkative bubbly person, I'm the one to be always observing what's happening around me. Studying even the smallest of details, those that the majority doesn't really notice.
From small face expression when reacting to something someone said, or the slight signs that a person's body gives when around different people. And yes, even the stolen glances at each other.
Right now, we're all gathered around a fire that my brother put on with a few tree sticks. The idiot might be a empty head most of the time, but when he wants to he can do something useful.
Next to him, Benji leans back into his chair, eyes closed and AirPods plugged in. He's done his talking for the day. Rina and Devon are surprisingly, or maybe not so much, sitting by each other's side and seem to be having an actual normal conversation.
After the blonde it's me on the circle, with Xander on my left, nothing but our legs touching. It's barely anything but I can't help shift my gaze back there every five seconds. It's probably the most display of affect we've shown in public, that it's not pretending.
While he remembers to check on me every ten minutes, he's also fully invested in his conversation with Knox. Only separated by Blake, who's between the two, they discuss the latest formula 1 race.
Santi and Stone occasionally make a comment as well, though the taller one is clearly the less talkative one. He's also been checking his phone every two minutes since they got here.
The last two on the circle are the Scott brother who, until now, still haven't fully convinced me they're in anyway related. If I look deep in enough, sure, they have some similarities on appearance wise, but personalities? Couldn't be more different.
While Knox and Stone are the quietest ones, Zach is undeniably the grumpiest one. Less approachable too. The guy looks like he hasn't seen happiness once in his life.
"Jeez, this party is more dead than my late late grandma" Callum scrunches his nose, with a disapproving shake of his head, "Who's in for a spill or drink game?"
"Only if you're finally telling us what were you and Collins doing to break half of our living room," Santi quirks an accusing brow, crossing his arms.
"You see, Santi, when two people really like each other they get into this deeper connection of two bodies meeting each other-" Xander starts, but gets cut off by Santi flipping him of and smacking the back of his head.
Rina snorts, "Even Devon could guess that one"
"Fuck off," the guy next to her complains.
"Are we all just going to ignore whatever love crap my cousin just rambled about?" Knox looks at me like I've grown two heads.
"Says the guy, who is supposedly all 'I hate everyone', yet did a whole love confession to the woman at his side" Xander scoffs.
"Tell me again, who's the one actually dating here?" the brunette's cousin smirks in victory.
Blake rolls her eyes, "Have no idea what was going through my head when I said yes to that."
