Stressed

When you try to lighten the mood.

You were engrossed in your favorite book, lounging comfortably on the couch, when Heeseung came and sat next to you, scrolling through his phone. You glanced at him, noticing the slight furrow in his brow, a clear sign that he was stressed. An idea popped into your head: you would tease and annoy him a little to lighten his mood.

You started staring at him intently, your eyes fixed on his face. Heeseung noticed your gaze and gave you a side-eye, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. "What are you doing?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

"I'm admiring," you replied with a mischievous grin.

Heeseung rolled his eyes and tossed the pillow from his lap to your face, making you laugh. "Stop it," he said, trying to sound stern but failing to hide his amusement.

Ignoring his request, you reached over and messed up his perfectly styled hair. He squinted his eyes, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he enjoyed the feeling of your hand in his hair. When you pulled away, he let out a whine, "Do it again."

You shook your head, teasing him. He sighed dramatically, asking, "Why did you do it in the first place then?"

Instead of answering, you ruffled his hair again, earning a chuckle from him. "You look like an anime character," you teased.

He sighed, putting his phone aside and pulling you onto his lap. You laughed as he did this, enjoying the playful moment. "What's with the sudden behavior?" he asked, his tone softening.

"You looked stressed, so I wanted to lighten the mood," you explained, smiling up at him.

He kissed you gently, whispering, "Mission accomplished." Then, with a teasing glint in his eyes, he asked, "So, do I really look like an anime character?"

You blushed and stuttered, "You must've heard me wrong."

He laughed, his stress melting away as he held you close. "No, I think I heard you just right."

You hid your face in his chest, embarrassed but happy that your plan to cheer him up had worked. Heeseung gently stroked your hair, the earlier tension completely forgotten.

As you both settled into a comfortable silence, he suddenly said, "You know, if I really do look like an anime character, then you're definitely my main character."

You looked up at him, your heart fluttering at his words. "And you're my hero," you whispered back, making him smile widely.

The rest of the day was filled with laughter and playful banter. Heeseung, now visibly relaxed, decided to take a break from his phone entirely. He suggested a movie, and you both settled in to watch one of your favorite rom-coms.

During a particularly funny scene, you noticed Heeseung laughing heartily, his earlier stress completely gone. You couldn't help but smile, feeling accomplished that you had managed to lift his spirits. You snuggled closer to him, and he wrapped an arm around you, holding you tight.

After the movie, you suggested playing a board game. Heeseung was hesitant at first, but you managed to persuade him. You pulled out one of your favorite games, and the two of you set it up on the coffee table. The game quickly turned competitive, with playful banter and teasing remarks flying back and forth.

"You know, I'm going to win this time," Heeseung said confidently as he made his move.

"In your dreams," you replied with a smirk, making your own strategic move.

The game continued, and eventually, you did win. Heeseung pretended to be a sore loser, pouting dramatically, which made you laugh. "Don't be such a baby," you teased, poking his cheek.

He grinned and pulled you into his lap again, tickling you mercilessly until you were both breathless from laughter. "Okay, okay, you win," you gasped, trying to catch your breath.

Heeseung finally stopped and kissed you on the forehead. "Thanks for today," he said softly. "I really needed that."

You smiled and kissed him back. "Anytime. I'm always here for you."

As the evening drew to a close, you both decided to go for a walk to enjoy the cool night air. Hand in hand, you strolled through the quiet streets, talking about everything and nothing. The stars were bright overhead, and the world felt peaceful.

When you returned home, you both felt rejuvenated and closer than ever. You snuggled up in bed, content in each other's arms. Just before you drifted off to sleep, Heeseung whispered, "I love you."

"I love you too," you replied, feeling a warmth spread through your chest.

With that, you both fell asleep, knowing that no matter what challenges came your way, you would always have each other to rely on.
