When you were about to fall.

You had decided that today was the day to tackle the cobwebs teasing you from the corners of your living room. Armed with a broom and a chair, you set out to clean while Heeseung was at practice. It was your quiet time, a moment to tidy up before he returned, knowing how busy he was with ENHYPEN activities.

Balancing on the chair, you stretched to reach the stubborn cobweb that had eluded your previous attempts. With determined focus, you stood on your tiptoes, wielding the broom like a knight with a sword. Just as you were about to sweep away the last bit of spider silk, the door creaked open behind you.

Instinctively, you leaned a little too far, losing your balance. Time seemed to slow as you teetered on the edge of the chair, arms flailing in a futile attempt to regain stability. Just as you were about to faceplant into the wall, a strong pair of arms wrapped around you, pulling you back from disaster.

The familiar scent of Heeseung's cologne surrounded you, and you let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding. "Whoa there, what are you doing?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with concern and a hint of exasperation.

You winced, knowing you were caught red-handed—or almost falling-handed. "Um, just cleaning," you mumbled sheepishly, refusing to meet his gaze as you straightened up.

Heeseung's arms remained securely around you, his grip gentle yet firm. "On a chair, on your tiptoes, trying to reach the ceiling?" he asked incredulously, amusement coloring his tone despite his attempt to sound serious.

"Yeah, well, I wanted to surprise you with a sparkling clean apartment," you admitted, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I didn't realize you'd come home so soon."

Heeseung sighed softly, his breath tickling your ear. "You know, you could have waited for me to help," he chided gently, though there was warmth in his voice that softened the scolding.

"I know, I know," you muttered, feeling chastened. "I just wanted everything to be perfect."Heeseung chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to your temple. "You're already perfect," he murmured, his words wrapping around you like a warm hug.

You sighed, melting into his touch despite your embarrassment. "I just wanted to do something nice for you," you admitted quietly, finally meeting his gaze.

Heeseung's expression softened further, his eyes crinkling at the corners with affection. "And I appreciate it," he assured you sincerely. "But next time, promise me you'll be more careful, okay? I don't want you risking a fall just to clean."

You nodded fervently, feeling grateful for his understanding. "I promise," you agreed, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips.

Heeseung leaned back slightly, his hands still resting lightly on your waist. "Good," he replied with a reassuring smile. "Now, let's get you off this chair before you decide to clean the ceiling fan next," he joked, guiding you safely back to solid ground.

You laughed softly, feeling lighter now that the tension had eased. "I promise no more acrobatics," you teased, leaning into his embrace.

Heeseung chuckled, leading you towards the couch where he sat down, pulling you onto his lap. "I appreciate your effort to keep things tidy," he said sincerely, his arms wrapping around you comfortingly. "But remember, I'm here to help too. We'll take care of the cleaning together."

And so, seated comfortably in Heeseung's arms, you felt a wave of gratitude wash over you. The afternoon passed in a blur of shared stories, gentle teasing, and heartfelt moments—a perfect reminder that in every mishap, there was always room for laughter, love, and the reassuring presence of Heeseung by your side.
