You sigh in frustration as you slam your Korean book beside you on the couch. Heeseung, who just came out of the bedroom, sees your frustration and asks, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," you reply quickly, not wanting to disturb him. You slowly slide the book under you, hoping he won't notice.
Heeseung sits next to you, raising an eyebrow. "Are you sure? You seem upset."
"I'm fine, really," you insist, attempting to stand up, but you remember the book beneath you and awkwardly sit back down.
Heeseung's eyes narrow playfully. "What are you hiding?"
"Nothing!" you repeat, but your voice betrays you.
Heeseung, ever observant, reaches over and gently pulls the book out from under you. "Ah, so this is the culprit," he teases, waving the Korean book in front of you.
You sigh in defeat. "I've been trying to learn Korean, but it's so hard. I just want to be able to talk to you in your language, so it's easier for you."
Heeseung's expression softens, and he chuckles. "You know, when I talk to you in English, I improve a lot too. But, since you want to learn, how about a little lesson right now?"
You perk up, smiling. "Really? You'd do that?"
"Of course," he says, pulling you closer. "Let's start with something simple. How do you say 'hello' in Korean?"
"Annyeonghaseyo," you reply, feeling a bit more confident.
"Perfect!" Heeseung beams. "Now, let's try something a bit more challenging. How about 'I love you'?"
You blush, your heart skipping a beat. "Saranghae?"
"Yes, exactly," he says, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "See, you're getting the hang of it."
"Thank you," you say, about to stand up, but Heeseung gently pulls you back down onto his lap. You stutter, "What are you doing?"
Heeseung smirks, his eyes mischievous. "I think I deserve a reward for my excellent teaching."Your face turns red as he teases you. "I-I'll buy you ramen?"
He shakes his head, smiling. "I want something better."
Before you can protest, Heeseung peppers your face with kisses. You giggle, trying to push him away, but his laughter is contagious, and soon you're both laughing uncontrollably.
"Okay, okay!" you manage to say between giggles. "You win!"
Heeseung grins, pulling you into a tight hug. "That's what I like to hear. Now, let's try one more phrase. How do you say 'thank you'?"
"Gamsahamnida," you respond, feeling proud of yourself.
"Perfect again," he says, his voice full of admiration. "You're really getting good at this."
"Thanks to my amazing teacher," you say, giving him a peck on the cheek.
Heeseung chuckles, his eyes sparkling. "Anytime, my student. Anytime."
You lean your head against his shoulder, feeling content. For now, you're just happy to share these cute and funny moments together, knowing that each day brings you closer to understanding not just a new language, but each other.
