When he takes you to the dentist.
You groaned as you got out of bed, wincing at the sharp pain radiating from your tooth. You'd been battling this ache for days, trying every internet remedy you could find, but nothing worked. The thought of going to the dentist made you shudder, so you'd avoided it at all costs. You trudged to the kitchen and started making breakfast, hoping food might distract you from the throbbing pain.
Heeseung soon joined you, sitting down at the table with a sleepy smile. His hair was tousled, and he looked absolutely adorable with his half-awake expression. Heeseung tapped the seat next to him, inviting you to join him. "Come on, sit with me," he said, his voice soft and coaxing.
You shook your head, trying to muster a smile. "I'm not hungry."
Heeseung's eyebrows knitted together in concern, but he didn't push. As you washed the dishes, he noticed you squinting your eyes and touching your cheek. His concern grew, but he decided to wait, watching you closely.
By lunchtime, you still hadn't eaten anything. Heeseung couldn't ignore it any longer. "Okay, what's going on?" he asked, his tone serious.
"Nothing," you replied, shrugging off his concern and heading to the bedroom.
Heeseung followed, finding you face down on the bed, groaning quietly. He sat beside you, his hand gently stroking your head. "You're in pain," he stated softly.
You shook your head, though it was more in denial than truth.
Heeseung continued to stroke your head, his touch comforting. "Come on, tell me what's wrong."
You sighed, unable to hide it any longer. "My tooth hurts like crazy."
Heeseung's expression softened even more. "We should go to the dentist."
You shook your head vigorously.
"But why?"
"I'm scared."
Heeseung sighed but gave you a reassuring smile. "Don't be a child. My dentist is really kind and gentle. You won't feel a thing, I promise."
"No," you insisted, shaking your head. "The pain will go away eventually."
Heeseung looked at you with a mix of concern and determination. "It's not going away on its own. We need to get this taken care of."
He lifted you and carried you toward the bathroom. "Get ready," he said firmly.
You dragged your feet, trying to buy time, but Heeseung wasn't fooled. "I can wait all day," he said, leaning against the doorframe with a playful smirk.
Rolling your eyes, you reluctantly got ready and followed him out of the apartment. As you walked into the dentist's office, your heart pounded at the sight of tool posters and motivational quotes on the walls. You took a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves.
The dentist turned and bowed, smiling warmly. "Hello, I'm Dr. Kim. Nice to meet you."
Heeseung couldn't resist teasing. "Go easy on her, Doc. She's a bit nervous."
Dr. Kim chuckled. "Don't worry, we'll take good care of her." He turned to you, his smile reassuring. "Are you scared?"
You nodded slightly, and Heeseung gave you a gentle nudge. "It's okay," he whispered. "You're in good hands."
The procedure went by more smoothly than you anticipated. There was a brief moment of pain as Dr. Kim removed the tooth, but it was followed by a rush of relief. You shivered at the sight of the tools, but the worst was over.
Heeseung was waiting for you when you emerged, his arm wrapping around you as he chuckled. "See? It wasn't that bad."
You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help the small smile. "Sure, easy for you to say."
Back in the car, Heeseung couldn't resist a final tease. "I know you're mad at me, but I got you something." He pulled out a lollipop with a grin.
You raised an eyebrow. "Really? How old do you think I am?"
Heeseung shrugged, still holding the lollipop. "It's a peace offering."
You sighed, snatching the lollipop from his hand. "Fine, but just because it's cute."
Heeseung laughed, the sound filling the car and easing the remnants of your anxiety. "You know, if you ever need to go to the dentist again, I'll be right there with you."
You smiled, feeling a warmth in your chest. "Thanks, Heeseung, but I don't think I'll be coming here again."
Heeseung smiled, reaching over to ruffle your hair. "Alright, alright. Let's get you home."
As he drove, you unwrapped the lollipop and popped it into your mouth, the sweet flavor a welcome distraction. Heeseung glanced over at you, his eyes twinkling with affection. "You know, you're kind of adorable when you're grumpy."
You gave him a playful glare. "Don't push it, Heeseung."
Heeseung smiled, reaching over to take your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
And as you drove home, the pain from your tooth already fading into a distant memory, you felt a deep sense of gratitude for having someone like Heeseung by your side, ready to support you no matter what.
