"Haechan, who's....girlfriend?"
Jeno asked his agitated friend who was putting away his things in his locker unnecessarily loudly out of frustration.
"What are you even talking about," he replied absentmindedly running his towel through his wet strands. Their team lost badly today. A bit too badly and he knew it was because he failed to coordinate everyone properly. If it weren't for Chenle they probably would've lost 0-3 instead of 2-3. And that of course, put the competitive youngster in an extra bad mood.
He grabbed the phone from him and as realisation dawned on him which made him quickly pick it up, "Uh-"
"Don't be too late. I can't wait up for you with the card forever," Jiae spoke from the other end without letting him speak. Jeno couldn't hear the voice but the pin drop silence of the locker room confirmed that it was definitely a feminine voice.
He rolled his eyes, "Alright I'll be there,"
Haechan cut the call and turned around to see Jeno who didn't think twice to inquire, "You're pissed but you'll still be there for her?"
"Shut up, it's not that deep," he replied to his friend and swung his bag over his shoulder.
"Who is it though? Didn't know you did this kinda stuff,"
"Didn't know you were loyal until you-know-who either so..." Haechan smirked at a playful attempt to get the attention off himself. Which worked cause the other boy grew quiet at the mention of his new (potential) lover.

As the two boys walked into their dorm hall they found Jiae dozing off on the couch. From the way her phone was at the verge of tipping over it was obvious she wasn't intending on falling asleep here. Haechan was about about to slip the card out of her hold but as soon as the sound of the door closing resonated through the room, she shook herself awake.
These study sessions and hours at the uni was taking a toll on her. Sometimes she does question why she took medicine.
"Took you long enough," she said with a yawn and stretch. She stood up and handed Haechan her key card who took it but looked back at her, "Aren't you coming?"
"No I'm incharge of lunch today with Jeno," she turned her head towards the said person.
Haechan nodded but it didn't take Jiae a lot to notice his mood, "You good?"
"Yeah I'm fine," he said in a monotonous tone and walked ahead which made Jiae furrow her eyebrows. "What's up with him?" She asked with her head slanting a little in question.
"Lost a match. He probably thinks it's his fault,"
Jiae turned to look at Jeno, with slightly wider eyes than before, "Is it....that big of a deal?"
"To us, yes,"Jeno replied with a chortle at how confused she was. "And he tends to get upset over these things more often than others so don't sweat it. I'll be in the kitchen after changing,"
She nodded at him and walked to the kitchen wondering what they'd be cooking. A tiny weeny little part of her admittedly was worried about Haechan. Just a tiny part. And that tiny weeny little part figured making his favourite dish would be an unnoticeable way to cheer him up.
Jiae started going through the ingredients mentally and checking if they had everything they'd need.
"So what are we making?" Jeno asked as he walked into the kitchen making Jiae glance at him from the cupboard. "Kimchi stew,"
