"You are supposed to talk, not do this,"
Jaemin sternly stood at the center of the living room between the two girls that he had coerced into this. The two who were now seated on couch beside eachother. Hana looked down at her lap, silently fidgeting with her fingers, sombrely, while Jiae peevishly refused to look at her. They were given the chance to speak civilly within their privacy. But clearly, when that didn't work, Jaemin had to step in to mitigate. They both understood eachother, and the blond knew that. He also knew right now they were just being petty.
Something about bestfriends. Whenever they had a fight, they'd both refused to be the first one to let go of it.
Jaemin glanced between the two girls again, poking his tongue at the inside of his cheek. That's when they heard the sound of something falling to the ground, clattering sound of it coming from Haechan and Jiae's room. This made the two girls momentarily divert their attention to the noise. They glanced into the open door to see Haechan desperately trying to put his precious daughter to sleep — dozing off himself through the process while the girl was still wide awake, staring at him. The two girls situated in the living room then met eyes with eachother.
"Lee Haeji for heavens sake- just....just SLEEP-"
Haechan's exasperated loud voice, combined with their eye contact, suddenly made the two girls purse their lips together, trying to continue being mad. But that plan was ruined when they heard a loud sound again, followed by a really panicked voice of Haechan.
"Okay okay no- no IM SORRY DONT-"
A wail from the girl burst through the silence.
Hana let out a snort while Jiae broke eye contact, still trying to contain her laughter. The man that usually was one trying to get on everyone's last nerves, now having nothing against his very own daughter was oddly entertaining.
"Look- you know what? Don't sleep! I give up! I SURRENDER!"
With that, the girls broke into laughter. Even Jaemin began chuckling before jokingly yelling out to Haechan as he put his hands on his hips, putting on an unnecessary amount of dialect in his words to sound like an older man, "Yah! This isn't something you can just surrender! It's your responsibility-" he said as he bit his lips as if he was reprimanding the brunette. The brunette in question was now walking into the living area, Haeji securely wrapped in his arms.
Upon registering the blond's comment, Haechan paused and gave Jaemin a solid ten seconds of his most annoyed possible scowl, completely serious and unmoving as he did so. Him doing that as he held the girl in his arms was rather comical. That was the last straw, now the two girls were hollering on the floor, naturally gravitating towards eachother as they laughed. Here's the thing about really close friends, sometimes more than a serious talk, they just need something weirdly funny to happen to break the ice. Somehow, finding amusement in Haechan's hopelessly continuous serenading to calm down the baby, might've successfully and finally put an end to the months old feud between the two girls.
On the other hand, Haechan frowned, eyes desperately finding Jiae's.
"Jiae! This isn't funny!"
Said girl and Hana were too busy cackling with eachother, almost to the point of tears, simply because they were laughing together. As much as Jaemin found it initially funny, now their laughter was starting to weird him out. But that was fine, at least he knew these two were far past being moody.
The thing about best friends, their fights never needed a definite ending. It just ended.....randomly.
