When Jiae left her mother halfway through the call three days ago, she would've never expected the repercussion to that would be this.

Here she was, at dream cafe sitting opposite to both her parents who had decided to show up at her campus unannounced and she was me with them right after her classes were over. Not knowing what to do, she ushered them to the nearest cafe as soon as possible and here they were, sitting in the cozily decorated cafe.

The raven head just couldn't understand why they were suddenly interested in her getting partner. They never bothered with it, in fact she didn't have permission to date until she was twenty. So what was with the rush now?

"Listen- you know what? Let him show up and you'll get exactly what I mean," she petulantly folded her arms across her chest making her father raise a brow, "You called him here? I thought you didn't know him?"

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, someone slid into the seat beside her and both her parents frowned, "Mark?" Her mother asked as the boy awkwardly gave them a smile with a scratch to his nape, "Minhyung," he added and Taeyang immediately widened his eyes.

"Oh my god wait-"

"Exactly dad, exactly," Jiae said as she tediously poked her tiramisu dessert and placed her chin on her palm which was propped on her elbow. Only if they just let her talk properly over the phone this wouldn't have to happen.

"Mark- I mean Minhyung- my lord this is such a ridiculous mistake," Her mother chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. They both obviously knew Mark was Mina's long term boyfriend and from their astonished reactions, it was obvious they weren't aware of the bigger picture either.

"You both could've just said that you know?" Her father told them casually as he took a bite of his blueberry pie.  The older man's words earned him a stern 'really?' Look from both the two youngsters.

"Okay! Okay! No need to glare," he raised his hands up in surrender with a playful smile which made his daughter roll her eyes at him jokingly while Mark chortled at the dynamic.

"But Mark dear, then, what happened with your engagement? I heard....from Eunjin," she spoke with sympathy and the boy nodded with a sigh before averting his gaze to her father. He exasperatedly exhaled and pursed his lips together, contemplating his next words, "I don't know if...this is too much to ask for but uncle, could you try and convince my parents? You know both mine and Mina's parents personally so...."

Jiae's father warmly grinned at the pleading younger and gave him a nod, "I'll see what I can do,"

Noticing the mood going down hill, Taeyang added, "But do me a favour and make sure my daughter here doesn't end up running herself into stupidity aga-"

"Dad!" The girl whined as the others laughed. Mark then stood up, earning frowns from her parents at how early he was leaving. He gave them a smile and explained that he had just gotten off a night shift and was bone tired. Being both doctors, her parents bid goodbyes to him with understanding. Which was great for him but really unfortunate for the girl. She was left alone with her parents again, making her internally sigh.

Being too into her thoughts, she only noticed her parents' concerned stares after quite awhile. But they didn't say anything as if they were waiting for her to do so first. Their gazes on her remained consist and it was starting to make her feel uneasy.

"Why are you-"

"Jiae," her father started, his voice serious and austere, making her look up from her almost finished dessert. "What now-?" She asked, growing gradually frustrated with them beating around the bush ever since they've been here. Jiae thought it was about the Mark situation but that was out of the way now. Then what's the problem? And why did they travel all the way here from Busan?
