The raven head had finished touching up her makeup and was prepared to leave. But when she took a full glance at herself again, something about it didn't feel right. She knew exactly what. Which was the same reason she ended up sighing.
Jiae knew she shouldn't be thinking this way but she really couldn't help it. She blankly stared at herself in the mirror, pursing her lips together. It wasn't just her not 'feeling herself', she didn't feel very comfortable with the white top that hugged her figure either. She had paired it with white wide legged jeans and was happy with the idea initially but now she wasn't so sure anymore. Then again, changing now would mean adjusting accessories and makeup again.
Her cheeks huffed out in front of the full body mirror again but then her self deprecating thoughts were interrupted with a wolf whistle. She turned her head to see Haechan standing against the door frame as he eyed her up and down, making her chuckle. "You look gorgeous. Stop being so hard on yourself Angel," he said and walked up to her to wrap her arms around her waist from the back, glancing at her overall again through the mirror.
But he kind of already expected her to feel this way. She hadn't been really okay with anything in her wardrobe because the girl didn't own way too many baggy or oversized clothes. Plus, it was starting to get chilly outside with the autumn wind starting to the welcome the upcoming winter. And the brunette knew well enough that thin t-shirt was going to do little to nothing to keep her warm.
A sigh almost left her lips until he handed out a navy blue sweat shirt of his, to her. He was aware it was the one she's been wanting to steal for awhile now but at that point, he didn't really care if she took it or not. It's not like she wasn't using his wardrobe as hers already anyway. Her eyes lit up but she gave him an unsure look, as if rechecking with him. He smiled down at her and nodded, the girl immediately smiled back brightly at him and skipped her way to the restroom to change into it.
They didn't even have say anything to communicate sometimes, like this exchange for example. She came out of the washroom with his sweat shirt on and she had to admit, having his scent engulf her made her feel eeriely more secure. Now she also had a white hat on which matched his black one, making him chuckle at her attempt to still somewhat match. They had planned to pair their fits but clearly, that didn't turn out as expected.
"Ready?" He reached out his hand to her. Her eyes darted down to his extended hand. They've done so much but now that she thought of it, holding hands had to be such a pure act of affection that within their rendezvous, they've actually done it properly only a counted number of times. Thrice.
Is this, really happening-? Is this really okay? Why am questioning all this now?
Her eyes moved up to him and from his little smile she knew he knew, they both knew - they've reached what they've been scared of all this while. Without any hesitation he grabbed her hand with a playful chuckle.
Why were these little things so scary for them before?
Maybe because they couldn't help but worry about when they'd lose it all. They were still scared- but not scared enough to avoid it as a whole anymore. It required them almost losing everything multiple times to come to terms with a simply fact: things change, but that doesn't necessarily mean they should give up or completely avoid all the beautiful things in life.
Truth was, reality is just a future memory.
No matter whether it takes a turn for the worse or better, all that really sticks with us are memories. And they're definitely worth making than having regret for not making enough memories to recall.
