"All roads lead to you, even the ones I took to forget you"

Haechan paced around in the small confines of the dark room. Not knowing what was going on outside made him feel defeatedly helpless; a feeling he hated. He had no idea how long it had been since the interrogation but considering how the small window on top of the cellar was now displaying a sun-less sky, it had could be deciphered it'd been over five hours. He still couldn't believe everything that had happened. But himself was not what he was worried about.

As ridiculous as Jiae's plan was, it was smart. Most importantly, it actually worked. Or maybe it's just that she coerced him into denying the allegations that he was supposed to admit to.

However what troubled him was that the pyrimites had eyes even within legal authorities. Jiae just waltzed in and claimed they're engaged.

NACS was the few legal authorities that worked independently from the ruling governments which meant it was one of the least corrupt sectors. So it was a relief and a clever call to bring her in to take over the case. But if someone else saw or found out about any of this- Nam Gyeol.

He was suspicious of the general officer. The last thing he needed was Jiae in more trouble than she already was in. The brunette just wanted her out of this mess. But when did the girl ever listen to him or anyone for that matter?

His fingers ran through the locks of his hair, agitatedly hissing while doing so. The sound of keys clanging and the rumble of metal shifted his eyes to the door of the cellar which was being unlocked.

"You've been bailed out. Let's go,"

The boy stood their frozen, his feet refused to move at what he heard. The middle aged man who had opened his cellar door looked over his shoulder to scowl at the young boy,

"You coming, kid? Or do you fancy staying in there?"

Haechan shrugged himself out of his trance and followed the man outside until they reached an office table with multiple people rushing around and ocassional loud ringing of the telephone erupted midst the busy police station.

The man handed Haechan a few papers and then offered a pen. He knew what he had to do so he began reading through before signing them.

"You should really treasure the girl, kid. She must trust you a lot for this" The older officer conversed casually as he looked through a different black folder. The brunette paused and cautiously looked up at the man just to see him tediously continuing his work.

"Which girl?" He asked to make sure and the man shot his eyes up at Haechan through his golden rimmed glasses, "Your fiancé? She's been here for the past eight hours," he said and pulled back the papers from Haechan now that he was done signing them.

"What?"he asked, befuddled at the revelation.

The man chuckled and shook his head with a little smile at the younger and gestured towards the waiting room. Though still puzzled, Haechan treaded his feet through the station to reach the door the officer pointed at.

He was welcomed with sight of a girl curled up and asleep, somehow only occupying two of the blue seats. Jiae was never exactly short for a girl, let's say two or three inches lower than Haechan himself. He couldn't help but chuckle at how adorable she looked with one of her cheeks pressed on her hand, eyes closed in deep slumber.

She didn't have to stay here the entire time but she did. There was something greatly endearing about that except Haechan couldn't understand why it was. He never had anyone anticipate him enough to put everything aside for him; not even his mother. He didn't need to be a genius to know she probably didn't eat or sleep anything since then either.
