Jiae treaded her feet towards the memorised hallways of the hospital. Her mind was completely clouded with the conversation she had with Mina at the start of the day in the hallway. It was so confusing and such an insane accusation that she wanted to believe this was a prank. But Mina was being serious.

This was absolutely ridiculous.

6 hours ago, 11:00 am

Jiae rushed herself to her faculty and was greeted with the buzzing of distressed students all around the hall way. The gray flooring and white walls of the building gave it more of a prison like effect for the students. Her eyes scanned through everyone and spotted Ryujin hunched over her notes, sitting crossed legged on her floor. It was exam season again. This semester flew faster than she would've expected.

"I swear I almost missed my alarm," Jiae said and slid beside Ryujin to share notes. "And I'm losing my mind this prop," Ryujin replied after taking a glance at the girl beside her and pushing the notes between them so both of them could equally read it. They we're different years though, so it was mostly her helping out Ryujin if she needed anything last minute.

"Why did we take medicine?" The raven head sighed.

"To make our already miserable lives hell,"

"Guys!" A certain blond hurried up to them with Mina and Karina in tail. The pair stressing on the floor turned to them and threw a rushed smile.

"You business students are so chill I wanna strangle y'all," Jiae remarked as Mina swung an arm around her, kneeling to her level. While Somi and Karina sat down infront, taking their notes out, "I'm so glad we somehow ended up in the same building for the exams," Karina said and scattered her and Somi's notes out.

Jiae sensed a weird amount of silence from Mina and it confused her further when the girl retracted her hands from her shoulder and sat down beside Karina without a word.

She furrowed her brows at her best friend's behaviour and was about to say something but the invigilators started yelling out to hurry the students inside the hall.

"Okay good luck babes," Karina stated and they all wished eachother luck before rushing in. Yet Mina didn't speak a word to Jiae.

Must be the exam stress

Jiae brushed it off and decided to focus on her exams. It truly started to concern her when even after the exams, the shorter girl was deliberately avoiding Jiae out of all of them. They were planning to go to the café together but Jiae couldn't stand the suffocating tension between her and her best friend.

"I need to talk to Mina for a bit so you guys go first," Jiae smiled at the rest and watched Mina physically freeze as the others left, laughing and whining about the test they just gave.

Jiae crossed her arms over her chest, examining her friend when she still wasn't speaking, "Why are you avoiding me?" She asked, wanting to get straight to the point.

Mina finally met her eyes and it had a pinch of hurt mixed with anger. "Why did you stay back last night?"

Jiae looked at her friend with confusion. She obviously couldn't tell her about Haechan yet cause that's a secret the two agreed to keep. "I went to smoke," Jiae excused herself knowing this was a full possibility from her.

"Mark left right after," Mina added as if it were self explanatory. Jiae raised a brow at her, ".....and? That's a coincidence,"

"This has happened more than once the past few weeks. You both disappeared together until late at night few days ago too. Constantly working together- I just thought it was cause of student council work," her voice growing a bit louder and tears prickled in the corner.
