4 years agoThe sky had cried and grumbled in a tune of melancholy and agony alike. He lost it. Every drop of sanity in his brain had been drained and he had no remorse holding a gun against his own uncle. But he didn't have the guts to pull the trigger, and Sungmin knew that.
Rain spattered all over the lifeless grounds of the cemetery, drenching both the men wet as they stood still, infront of the grave of the one they both held dear to them.
The 19 year old boy stood face to face with his 28 year old uncle, the gun still pointed at him. Sungmin however, just smiled at his supposed nephew, "Didn't think I'd see you here, Donghyu-"
"Cut out your crap. You have no right to visit her now that she's gone when you didn't bother to keep her alive when she was her with us," Haechan seethed without letting Sungmin speak any further.
"You think I didn't try?" Sungmin raised both brows at Haechan. Both of them had their tears hidden by the intense rainfall trickling down their features.
"Doesn't matter anymore. As long as I'm alive, you're not setting a single foot into our family's business so forget even dreaming of that,"
Sungmin scoffed, "Your own will betray you before I even get to you,"
"Never. You won't get in my head. Leave,"
The older man chuckled at the younger, "You'll get me some day, Haechan. Maybe you're not as money hungry as me. But this? You'll know it when you're in it,"
He turned on his heel and walked away leaving the younger in heavy breaths, his lips parted as his fingers began shaking. His shaky eyes moved down to the grave that this exchange happened in front of. And he swore that day, he'd do anything to away harm from his family, friends, whoever it may be. But this singular incident triggered a dangerous war in his world. A war he knew he had to fight regardless of whether he wanted to or not.
But to beat a demon, you'd need to become one.
