The raven head was panting as she barely made it to the of the venue on time.
4:55 - good enough
She rushed in and was welcomed with the unfamiliar field. Their regular matches would be usually held outside but given the whether now, that wasn't the suitable option. Overly upbeat music blared from the speakers, groups of people gushed to their seats as the sound of loud chattering filled the space.
Jiae's eyes scoured over the entire place to spot Dalbyeol at the very front. She would be questioning how she was casually sitting at a court side seat but then again she wouldn't be surprised if the pink haired girl had coerced Haechan into getting her there.
The girl enthusiastically flailed her arms at her from a distance, making her chuckle as she treaded her feet down the flight of stairs. Just as she had expected, the eyes burning holes into her back was inevitable, so were the whispers. Jiae ignored any possibly bothersome comments that might've been passed to her and opted to greet Dalbyeol with a smile. After they were both seated the announcer yelled out their university's team name. Anyone could tell this was their home ground based on the loud cheers which erupted from the crowd at the mention of the Regals.
The opening song the team had used also happened to be a song produced by a band from their university. The hype tone and rhythmic beats of the song which she knew as 'Walk' had the entire venue booping their heads along with it as the players entered the field.
Her eyes scanned the mixture of color amongst the jerseys- the regal jumpers in bright red and blue while the thunderbolts in yellow and green. She had always found the names of the teams, mildly humorous but decided she was better off keeping that to herself.
In the pack of red-blue her eyes spotted a certain mop of lazily kept brown hair. The boy seemed be engaged in a serious conversation with two of his fellow teammates as three shared confident looks. Finally, he glanced around in the crowd with an ineffectual attempt to hide a frown. All until it landed on her.
To say his eyes lit up at the sight of her would be an understatement, as if someone had kindled an candle in his honey pooled eyes. She smiled at him but his eyes moved lower from her eyes before darting back up with an ear-to-ear grin.
The high bitched shrill sound announced the match's beginning and that was the end of their little interaction. Soon enough, the first quarter of the game began, which ended in a score board where they were leading by 7 points. Within the short break, she received a text.
