"So.....I'm Choi Yeonjun,""Yeah I didn't know. Totally didn't spend hours at the court trying to get you all to cooperate for the magazine shots," she rolled her eyes jokingly and thankfully he played along with her humour, chortling shortly.
"Kim Jiae- since you decided to start with the formalities," she introduced herself as she pulled out the menu.
"I never thought I'd see you of all people here," Yeonjun remarked after they finished giving out their orders, diverting his attention from the menu to her.
"I didn't expect to be here either really. But I appreciate the taste of the person who chose this place," she replied with a smile.
"It's a close friend of mine. We often come around here. Glad you like it,"
The food arrived relatively fast and Jiae was so very happy when the said food made contact with her tastebuds. It's the kind of food that'd remind you of home. The diner was living up to it's visuals.
The pair age eventually engaged in casual conversation. Whether it be talking shit about certain professors or funny incidents they've seen around campus; featuring ocassional banter. He was sweet, funny and respectful so there wasn't much for Jiae to worry about.
"Since you're here, just a little question if you don't mind, are you getting back to dating again?" He cautiously asked and she met his gaze after moving it from her food.
"Why wanna ask me out already?" She joked and he shook his head with a smile, "Got caught red handed," he replied but they both knew it was a light hearted joke. Till now both of them couldn't have thought of eachother as anything more than platonic- most likely cause they both were here unwillingly and weren't actually looking for anything today.
"But in all seriousness, are you?" He asked again and Jiae shrugged.
"I haven't really thought about it specifically. I don't mind it but it's not something I worry about either you know?"
The boy nodded in understanding.
"Besides it's not like I'm some sort of heartthrob like you bunch- we actually need time to get someone to like us," she humoured again but she was confused when the other side remained silent. She looked up in panic to be met with a perplexed Yeonjun.
"Do you...have no idea?" He said with a chuckle out of disbelief.
"What?" She frowned.
"You underestimate yourself a lot, Jiae," Yeonjun took a bite of his food and exaggerated his disappointment.
"I barely talk to men," she said blurted out plainly.
"Exactly why you have no idea!" He laughed at how clueless she was but she was starting to get curious.
"What do I not know?"
"It's better if you don't know man," he teased her but she scoffed at him with her arms crossed over her chest, staying wordless. Yeonjun met her eyes and they just stared at eachother. The stare contest ended with him realising she's actually stubborn and won't stop her behaviour if he didn't tell her.
"You really wanna know how weird men can get?" He raised a brow, reluctant to tell her too much about this.
"Yes I do. I need to know what's being said behind me,"
