- 5 days later -

Fire. Everything was blazing aflame and she stood at the center of it all. A black figure went running down the stairs which hadn't caught fire yet she couldn't reach up until there. She wanted to call out to any living being, praying to somehow be out of there.

She felt as if she was being held back in this hell like a sinner that didn't deserve forgiveness. Tied up to burn. She coughed and kept coughing as orange gruesome inferno filled her vision, her skin burnt from the heat and ambers flew up to her skin, her lungs filled with the black smoke which surrounded her.

The floor swept down form under her she let out an agonising scream.

Jiae's eyes flew open, processing that she was awake now. sweat covered her forehead and her breath was audibly shallow.

It was a dream. It was just a dream hey Jiae it was just a dream.

She told herself as tears sprung to her eyes and she curled up into a ball as fear took hold of her. She tried to grasp herself close to her shake less as her emotions were thrown into a blender. Nothing helped her stop the panick attack building up until a hand was placed on her shoulder and she felt her body being pulled towards the hand.

"You're alright. It's a dream, angel," he whispered to her and ran his fingers through the strands of her hair. She didn't move and stayed on his lap until she calmed down to a stable degree.

"I'm sorry I probably woke you up," she mumbled in a barely hearable voice. "I wasn't sleeping anyway," he replied back in a soothingly clear tone making her look up at him with furrowed brows. It made her more confused to see him wearing his reading glasses. Her eyes darted automatically shifted to his table which had a little lamp on.

"We have a test tomorrow. I studied nothing all day so had to do something," he explained as his hands never stopped caressing her hair soporifically.

She slowly pulled her head up from his lap and sat up on her bed, blinking at him with her now slightly puffy eyes in puzzlement.

"I have anatomy. The fuck do you mean we?"

Haechan tilted his head in equal confusion, "The whole grade failed the last bio chem test. It's repeating today,"

"Shit," she sweared as her hand slapped across her forehead making the boy chuckle. She hadn't been attending as regularly as she used to for obvious reasons. She'd been going for exams and important lectures only. No matter how much she denied it and told ebeurome she's fine now, the truth was she couldn't stand how walking down the hallway made her feel small.  For someone like her, that was excruciatingly intolerable.

People would either constantly feel sorry for her or look at her lustfully or disgustedly. All of it made her internally frustrated. But her being her, would rather shut up and act like she's got it all together. To her, she wanted to pretend she's fine and she didn't need any help.

"And here I was wanting to ask you for help," he remarked jokingly which earned him a glare from the raven head.

Lazily wiping remnant tears away, she dragged her feet to the restroom to wash her face. Staring at her reflection on the mirror, she bit her lips as the droplets of water fell from the front ends of her hair. Her eyes dragged itself through her entire being before it landed on the large scar across her side which peaked out on the side of her hip.

She forgot how many stitches were even needed for it but she was glad it was finally healed. It'd been three whole months yet she couldn't get over it. The scar was getting better, but only physically. The intense fear of fire was eating her out alive every night. She gulped down a lump in her throat and shook her head to snap herself out of it
